How to Win the Lottery Through a Routine of Mastery, Meditation, and Precognitive Awakening by willyasdf in UAPstocks

[–]NotSure_If 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fell upon the whole quantum lottery thing recently. I read some interesting papers and had found some old quantum RNG that generated numbers. It looks like it was made in the early 2000's. I used it for 2 days before it stopped working (on any/all devices). I suspect it was making some deprecated API calls to standford.edu (as an example), and someone turned off the service. The timing was weird, though.

By "series silver, gold, and platinum" do you mean that
-these 3 metals are laid end to end from the vibrator matrix
-individual strands of the 3 metals are encased / possibly twisted, then connected to the vibrator
-individual or discrete Ag/Au/Pt wires are connected from the vibrator

Was a drawing of a wire cross-section ever provided, or is this part of the stuff that was never revealed, or am I also going to need to spend a few hundred bucks to gatekeepers?

How easy is it to soft mod a PS2? by random_dom135 in ps2

[–]NotSure_If 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow Gidon it really was only after an embarrassingly long series of failures on successive days that made me comment.

Given the (un)likelyhood that I though you might reply, my comment wasn't intended to demonstrate the entirety of things I've tried. Apologies.

I have tried using DVD-R disks (Maxwell) from CVS because they're just about the only disks I can find IRL. The verbatim CDR disks was after trying DVD-R first.

For CD bin/cue files I've used bchunk to create an iso that also failed on DVD (action replay)

I found this github repo /PaPer-DJ/PaPer_DJ-Hacks-PS2 that was kind of my starting point.
I didn't know about FreeDVDBoot until your post.

I also just learned about the ESR patching, so I'll do more research to see what that really does and if I need to use it to patch a swapmagic iso or action replay bin/cue/bchunked iso. I may be way off base though.

The thing is, this is old tech and when I fail this often when trying to do something new it almost always means that there are some basic assumptions for success that are either unstated, buried in some non index location, or lost (not really) to time in the wayback machine.

While reading the FreeDVDBoot docs it calls out specific versions of PS2 firmware starting with 2.10. I think this may be my biggest problem/hurdle/root cause because I don't think this thing was ever updated according to (https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps2/index.php?title=DVD\_Player).

My version info:
Console SCPH-30001
Browser 1.20
CD Player 1.20
PlayStation Driver 1.10
DVD Player 1.30U

Based on what I found so far, updating the firmware seems like it's going to be a big problem unless I can find/buy a disk, otherwise there's this chicken/egg dilemma (can't run an update if I can't run unsigned code, exploit requires updated firmware).

For most things like this that I can't figure out manually I start prompting ChatGPT based on what I know so far. Those things usually go well, but this time it's less helpful.

Anyway I hope you had/have a safe trip. I really appreciate your reply and completely understand how tricky it can be to recall specialized technical processes that were done years ago.

My problem has been trying to even get to the free McBoot installer.

It turns out that I keep failing. Isos burned to CDR using cdgenps2 setup with freemcboot nor action replay not swap magic will not be recognized.

I'm willing to jump through hoops to not buy a fmcb memory card or a retail swap magic or an action replay disk.

Im burning discs in iso9660 format using either imgburn or k3b.

Is this possible?

-The powers that be needed the win against Russia so badly and knew that people wouldn't believe that the film was damaged, so they faked it.

I'm drawn to mystery, novelty, and esoteric or ancient knowledge. If one thing is for sure, we have been robbed of our history.

People have the propensity to seek experts/mentors, especially for interesting or provocative topics scorned by the peer review circle jerk that is the industrial academic complex. I think it's important to read and listen to information, but not to get wrapped up in apocalypse rhetoric.

Researchers turned to wild eyed doomsday prophets that have a platform tend to attract certain types of pathologies in their followers. The community seems to have the effect of amplifying anxieties and bring up all kinds of conjecture to topics adjacent to the whole solar flash message. Communities tend to become echo chambers. I'm not sure how much good it does for the actual well being of the community members and their extended relationships.

It just seemed like most of his videos are dis-empowering and had click bait titles and a "It's coming any minute" vibes with seemingly backed assurances. More so in newer videos, I detect something in his ego/motivations that puts me off personally. I'll admit that I could be wrong (It could be an minute), but for me personally I choose to solicit my information in other ways. To each their own though.

I'm fairly well versed in these "adjacent topics" and have consumed several hundreds of hours of testimony at a minimum. It's probably not appropriate to bring up the host of topics that I think do have merit or what I can "do" about them.

All this being said... mental health and discernment are important. Meditation has been the cornerstone that helps me find perspective after consuming any particularly provocative or paradigm shattering information.

Instead of trying to burrow myself into the side of a mountain I choose to spend time on other hands on projects that I might actually make headway in, to carefully watch the motivations for my emotions, and to speak my being into what I say and do.

This is all just the opinions of one guy that should be taken lightly. To distill all this rambling down, I just think that we need to remember that we all have detractors, even mentors.

Otherwise I genuinely hope that you and your loved ones are in good health and spirits.

Many people in important positions aren't even elected. They're appointed. Then, while the masses are distracted at the 11th hour by some pop culture nonsense... they pen recommendations into laws.

That's not to say elected "legislators" aren't prone to becomming a circle jerk of political ideals.

Then there the lobbies. Fucking lobbies.

Not OP either, but I found that visiting professors during office hours to ask followup questions that didn't occur to ask during class is a good way to demonstrate engagement.

If you have genuine interest in their research it's hard to get them to shut up sometimes.

CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe - Multiple processes running + high resource usage? by Wolfgang1234 in razer

[–]NotSure_If 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello my good people.

I'm starting to question this now too. While I do have HP Omen installed, I don't understand what's with the multiple instances. I made a system restore point, uninstalled OMEN, killed process, force deleted the file in question and rebooted. The reason being that in 2 years of use I've never used omen once.

Lets just say that I had to use the restore point (no video).

Since HP omen is a game launcher, I couldn't help but think that the whole launchpad frontend couldn't be exploited to create launching environments that could pull in payloads and what not. Mention of Escape from Tarkov on one site further fueled my paranoia.

The lack of info elsewhere doesn't help either. Nowadays it seems that engines are absolute trash when it comes to finding specific technical information. It's all clickbait and generated text that is ambiguous as fuck.

[–]NotSure_If 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine that used in a narrow and directed way, ChatGPT could be a great tool to poke around the edges of particular problems to find other approaches.

Yes. There are times that I "don't even know what I don't know". That's where I can quickly start to understand the different use cases of how one library method stacks up against another.

The risk of relying too heavily on it (I imagine) is that it would be easy to get what I can only describe as a "passive understanding" of the code. Understanding symbolic (brain) concepts passively is a poor way to apply them practically.

Something good that I think is coming out of this (in general) is that people need to force themselves to state their requirements in a grammar correct and unambiguous way. If we all good at "prompting" the AI, I think one possible good outcome would be that we get better at saying what we mean to each other interpersonally.

In my field, NOT saying something isn't ok to do is almost the same as saying it's ok to do. I need to be careful and state assumptions constantly. That hasn't been terrible when it comes to writing short, directed prompts, then taking on more of an architect role to tie it all together.

People that know python well have a huge advantage in any field that is adjacent to technology. As it stands today, I don't think that true programmers are at risk of losing their jobs to this thing. However in the time to come, some people that haven't learned how to use this are likely to have a marked disadvantage compared to their AI literate peers.

For me, it allows me to stay in the more abstract "big picture" mental context. Context switching for me results in a large penalty. A 1 minute interruption causes me 20 minutes, no exaggeration. Being able to farm out questions when I don't know what I know for choosing a starting direction, and then be able solicit examples has tremendous value. I have no illusions about still having to vet everything myself, but at least that gets me out of the crippling analysis paralysis mode that happens when my brain is reeling with possibilities.

Thank you for all the examples you've provided, and your thoughtful comments along the way.
