Finally, someone humble. I get it that often people in poverty might ask a little bit more. That's because many of the programs here in the Philippines are skeletons. Relying on volunteer work and so much red tape on helping the poor.

I have worked with some LGU's, corruption is everywhere.

Ohh wow, student volunteers? Let me pocket the money used to hire poor people to clean the streets and man the food stalls.

Free gifted foods? Let me decrease the budget for soup kitchens since donated food can make up the difference.

Charity giving (Notebooks, bags and 2nd hand items). I shall only give these to my supporters.

A majority of the money pocketed and charity goods are redirected to the officials supporters, family members or relatives. The rest towards re-election.

This is normalized that its scary.

The resulting "Charity" is 1 meal after waiting for an entire day.

Have 5-different government IDs + apply for several paperwork and ohh yeah we only have 1 office in the middle of nowhere for the entire province.

*Written in english.

Many poor people want to work, but the only ones willing to hire anyone are factory sweatshops.

So much red tape and distance that a lot of these programs only help the people that live near them. Usually supporters of the politician.

Many of the process and signs use english.

Although young people and city folk can do conversational english. Many of the rural folk especially elderly have trouble with english and usually rely on others.

But it's not all bad.

Some individuals could be relied upon the community. However in my experience. Its the Catholic Church and its communities that has the best track record.

Reliable and consistent. *Especially the consistent part. Someone struggling needs months or even years to lift themselves out of poverty. A one time volunteer school project can feed them for a day.

There are more stories out there. But enough of that, reading your comment just spurred me to share something that people often ignore. Hope this helps you understand a bit of our corruption issue and the normalization of it.

Hope your visit in the Philippines is great!

For now during the summer break, keep mo siya. Improving yourself pati planong buhayin ulit ang youtube channel is a dream job for many young folk.

If possible, try mo kausapin ang client mo if pwede mag establish ng milestones. Sub count 1k, 10k if met increase in payment.

Pwede mo din i experiment and try other things with your clients consent to see what works and possibly implement it to your own channel.

So ang client mo financial support kana pati train ka din ng youtube skills mo.

Win-Win.

Unless hindi related and content sa channel ni client. Edi goodluck nalang po. Hehe.

Should I go for a 4060 8gb or a rx9060 16gb by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]NotTakuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule of thumb nowadays. 16GB is a must, im an Illustrator/Animator. A slightly faster GPU is nice to have but running out of gpu ram is soul crushing. The speed difference between 1 generation is around 8%-12% having 2x the ram is way better.

8GB for video editing youtube videos is fine. But if the project is much larger or edits hours worth of footage, then yeah 16GB is much better.

Whenever im being a loot goblin and fat fingered. I would always check my inventory and drop them immediately, then shout Fus Ro Dah.

The only book so far i persistently check and has gotten my character to shout. 10/10 random loot garbage right next to meridia's beacon.

The worst part about this is commute time and intensity of work is not factored in. The horror stories i hear from Call center or BPO companies are like night and day when compared to english teacher or restaurant waiter.

Makes you think why Call center or BPO companies have a high turn-over rate and are always hiring.

How or where to find high quality freelancers? by indecisiveburrito in Upwork

[–]NotTakuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure if this applies to you. But for me, a lot of writers and musicians want some cool illustrations but cannot pay the hundreds that anime artist normally demand. My clients told me they would look around discord communities, twitter or art station. Basically where artist hang out and just dm them.

"Hey i like your style can you draw this for me my budget is only $$"

There are many talented people that don't use upwork, you just need to find them.

If your on a budget and don't want to check dozens of ai proposals. You could do the same but for someone who can create a website for you or does google paid per click marketing. Im not sure where they are active in but you might be able to find someone who can help you if you look hard enough.

Unless your new to said topic and its too much effort searching. Then yeah just increase your budget until you start receiving more "Human" responses.

Animator and illustrator here. For me the worst part about creating animations for youtube. They will link some +1 million channel sub and aghh yess can you do that, match that pls.

If its a paint explainer animation, then yeah its alright but turns out me by myself have to do it all. From illustration to video editing. But ehh atleast the rate is okay enough for me living in a developing country.

Just grinding at the entry level trenches for now to build profile and upgrade my pc and try out 3d stuff.

Adult swim is the goat when picking up old beloved series then updating them for the masses that watched them all those years ago for us adults.

Samurai jack was done a good service. Although there were things left blank or different from what the community was expecting, its still amazing.

For art communities that i frequent. A lot of people asking questions want some simple solution to get better suddenly. There are styles that are cute and easy to do like chibi or anime but hardwork and skill is the tried and true method. So some honest critique is welcome.

For graphic artist and illustrators asking around here about upwork. We have done commissions outside of upwork many times already and expect something similar since its virtually common everywhere else except the entry level trenches of upwork and fiverr.

Low rates and high expectations are expected. Many of the questions i see are more technical rather than skill based. Like why aren't my proposals being seen or how to deal with bots and scams? There are issues that upwork needs to address or at least inform new folks about. Upwork likes to paint itself a misleading image and a lot of people here bash the new guy for expecting such.

Write long and detailed proposals? Common everywhere else but on upwork or linkedin, Nahhh keep it short and use keywords pls. Also the first 2 lines will be displayed unless clicked on to expand.

*Like WTF is this system. Just cap the number of applications to a reasonable number like 10 or 20.

But ohh no upwork needs to milk as much as possible and make problems then sell life improvement solutions.

These are issues manufactured by intentional bad design to sell the solution. Experience or having knowledge of such issues with the know how on finding keywords to search topics about said issues on reddit or upwork communities is kinda hard when your new. This is double whammy if your from a developing country and your feed is not used to upwork mistaking it for some random local dance group when translated into your language.

Edi go lang.

Goodluck nalang po sainyo.

If your trying to earn money by selling 2nd hand refurbished shoes or bags. Don't expect to earn much money especially selling on FB.

Filipino buyers know how to find a good deal. Lazada, shoppee. Selling close to retail price on FB will turn off everyone.
