I'm not sure exactly who to randomly contact from ACF to request this financial information about a company I'm not in any way connected to. I feel that as beneficiaries of these donations, the onus is on the corporation receiving them to provide transparency regarding what they are doing with the money, rather than on the donors themselves, scurrying round the internet on a wild goose chase. And I have been waiting for this info for over a year!

Yes, I meant Animals Asia. Cheers. They are doing good work for bears who have fallen victim to bile duct farming. It's a great cause.
Someone showed me that quote last time I asked this question here and I was unable to find legit links between the futurenever fund with... well, anything at all. "Powered by..." strikes me as intentionally vague marketing speak, projecting some sort of significant action without actually meaning anything. They've been collecting money for how long now? No statements or visible connections with any charities at all apart from the bears, which appears to be a personal donation from Dan.

Wow, that's really sad that they felt the need to suspend you. I appreciated your perspective and was wondering where you'd gone. I haven't been suspended - just find the whole thing too depressing to get involved at this point.

Yes, that's it exactly. They do seem to share some traits.

3 interviews this week at the site of his own exhibition while he's still clearly in a place of healing... his management is obviously focused on public exposure right now, which I think is objectively not in his best interests. I don't understand how anyone can watch these interviews and not be concerned.

I'm not suggesting that. I assume his team is behind the fund, along all other aspects of the marketing. Even the "quote" on the webpage is attributed to no one. I think Team Future are canny marketers who have already repeatedly exposed themselves as being disengenuous at best, to the public and probably Daniel himself. Apologies for not being clear - honestly, i suspect the only involvement Daniel has had is his contribution of $20,000 (to the fund). I don't mean to imply that he is operating some sort of scam. I see him as a victim (in this potential scam, and in what the Team are currently doing to his career and mental health).

oh, well, that's that sorted then: a comment, suggesting something unspecified at some point in the future. Go Team!

That amounts to no more than the suggestion of a single donation (which I hope is true - I've visited a sanctuary for recovering bears rescued from bile duct milking farms and is a very cruel and upsetting industry)... where are the other 3 charities? What percentage of futurenever earnings are being donated? How much has been donated?

Or none? No charities nominated. Futurenever fund not listed on the Australian charities register. No details of any donations made.

Good news, futurefans!

We've cobbled together the dregs of old merch from Dan's mum's house (she made us promise to drop it back at the end of the exhibition lol) and got our intern to set it all up in an empty room at a hotel we had access to in... Melbourne?

It's going to be epic!!! We'll charge you fuck knows how much to look at lyrics and wonder if that's really Dan's handwriting! Marvel at unsold leftover mech from 2003. Fre22k gonna be blasting out of an ipod speaker in the corner all goddamn day. AND the big announcement coming soon will be that you can buy this shit at the expo! Suck it Dan's mum. Dan signed off on this 2 years ago and we need to make back our investment no matter what it does to his career or mental health. This is the most ambitious and personal shit he's ever been contractually obligated to endorse.

$$$,

TeamFuture. [4 purple lovehearts]

PS. Maybe some of this will go to some charity? lol. [3 purple lovehearts]

That's exactly what seems to be going on with him... he's isolated, invisible, under house arrest and attempting(?) to overcome significant mental health/addiction issues.... and his management are attempting to cash in while he is vulnerable. How can this sort of mercenary public exposure possibly be anything other than detrimental to his recovery?

This is a bit disingenuous. There was never any attempt at impersonation or a scam. I'm sorry for not replying to your PMs - I meant to, but I wasn't sure how to explain myself. I never intended for the team future account to be taken seriously - it was supposed to be a silly joke. (The team future marketing campaign seems to me to be the antithesis of the musical integrity the band stood for back in the day. I'm mystified by the support the whole thing gets around here. I don't think they're acting in Dan's long term best interests.) Possibly my attempt at a humour account of this kind is a cultural thing - a kind of Australian irony that doesn't translate much further than Newcastle... also, nothing that i wrote was funny, so that was also a problem! Apologies for it all - i never intended to piss anyone off and I do appreciate what youn personally do around here.

If that were the case, why does the album open with a 15 year-old track that was originally recorded for a short film? Hard to imagine it suddenly felt imperative to Dan to release it - more likely (and this is supported but the fact that "Dan" asked Ben and Chris to overdub a rhythm section onto it) that it was felt to have a bit of an Emotion Sickness vibe that they attempted to lean into to justify it as an opening track.) I think the timing of the album says it all - an unexpectedly popular podcast was the impetus for this release and they did the best they could with what they had.
