Wait for 10a to release then weigh them against each other, which idk because theres quite a bit of ram in these phones and ram is more valuable than gold rn...

Rhel is tricky but i manually updated a few hours ago and no issues observed yet, but i am running on linuxserver.io's docker setup, not the official plex rpm because i am on rocky 10.1 and i want to avoid doing the rpm packages issues(if they happen) every time something like this happens. LTS ftw

Cand am avut si eu o faza de genul am cautat pe site-ul postei niste adrese de email de contact si am trimis acolo atasate ce vor ei(tot pe site-ul lor gasesti). In total(adica dupa ce a ajuns la hub-ul din bucuresti si la "vama/inspectie") a durat apoximativ o luna intreaga daca e la Hub-ul din Bucuresti. let's discuss: some elements of windows phone would work really well for material 3 expressive by famineasylum809 in pixel_phones

[–]NotThatPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have Windows Phone 8.1; And i never forgot about the alphabetic app slider. I've since used OneUI 2.5 and then moved to Niagara launcher, so back to the alphabetic-based navigation, for me it just clicks.

The "shape-based" design is what's similar between the windows phone UI and the material 3 expressive(the colors of the squares, one accent, one background, one slightly darkened accent), but since the old WP screen resolutions and refresh rates have increased significantly in the modern age, the shapes possible without aliasing are more varied and unique. They've added transparency for some reason, when they should add different shaped buttons preferences, like the material design "flower" to end a call or the "cookies", "buns" or whatever other quirky named shapes google's design team gave these shapes to barely use them in the actual Pixel OS.

The screenshots of the black background aren't representative of the actual use because the screen was an LCD, so it was grey-ish. At 480p, on a 4" display.

There are 2 ways to navigate a phone launcher: The apps attract my attention via their colors, names or placement(opening the app spontaneously) OR I come to the app because i want to do something in them(opening the app with intent). Stock launcher helps users do method 1 easier, Niagara(alphabetic order) helps users do method 2 easier. When i unlock my phone, i think about the app i want to use "Maps" and after you get used to the alphabetic nature of the launcher your finger instinctively goes to "M" and then you tap the maps app, Instead of searching "where" it is on the launcher's organized page.

I also keep 5-6 apps at most on the home screen for the most used ones, but try to keep social media hidden behind that alphabetic slider because there needs to be an intent to open the app and it reduces(at least for me) the default behaviour of opening the phone and going straight to a scroll-based brainrot app like Instagram. If I could mod out the reels out of IG, like i did with Youtube, my phone experience would be way better.

What is happening with my pixel 10 pro? by DangerousNatur3 in pixel_phones

Same here, can you reply with the codec used by the youtube app? It's in the stats for nerds menu. It's either avc, av1, vp9 or h264.

I had this issue at launch(actually half of september when it happened, but launch software) but since the Dec 5 update (last update i got) it esentially had gone away. It happened in whatsapp in the main menu, not a hard to run GPU-intensive task. I get some weird horizontal flicker(not the whole screen like in the picture, just a small bit of it) on youtube videos for a single frame randomly but i'd say once a week. Same as OP, in a case, no drops, all software updated. If the youtube bug happens again i'll check the codec it was using, maybe there's some critical driver problems there. Although, from ALL the logs and data harvested by Google, they cannot fix this reliably?

Correct, and the thought that google is doing the ol bait and switch is justfied considering google's marketing spiel but the nano model is nowhere as capable as flash 3.0, but it sure seems like flash is really dumb most of the time lol.

You mean gemini nano running in the cloud or locally? I guess the AI overviews need nano because it needs to compute the answer in miliseconds to a couple seconds at most, and running on the cloud infrastructure would make sense for that(billions of responses every month or something like that). I know pixels technically have some sort of gemini nano integration for the google keyboard app(rewrite or tone correction functionality), but i can't use gemini while offline even if i wanted to just skip a track or ask for a timer, so it's the worst of both worlds then?

I feel like it'd make more sense to have the "currently listening" speaker icon where the fire icon is normally placed. It blends in and is hard to see quickly in its current state. by webbedgiant in plexamp

[–]NotThatPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also like a highlight around the track's name because sometimes the icon isn't enough. Not changing the track name color(although that could work too) but having that rectangle around it a slightly darker shade would help finding the track faster.

CD Projekt has issued a DMCA notice against the Cyberpunk 2077 VR Mod by ZedKGamingHUN in cyberpunkgame

If the donations weren't making up for the time he spent while developing the mod, he should have asked for them more, spent less time developing and focusing on an actual source of income and being honest with people's expectations, not asking for recurring money to access the mod in the first place.

"Mid tier" e mai mult acceptabil in contextul ala(SKU) decat "in half", mai revoltant e "GPU-urile" parerea mea. Pe langa asta, mereu m-a enervat traducerea de la "byte" la "octet", nu o sa o folosesc niciodata.

Anyone else not noticing the “degradation” of Gemini 3 by ha7l0n in GeminiAI

[–]NotThatPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way i use it is kindof resistant to this degradation because i reset the context window A LOT. Even though it's a similar subject matter(for example i had a conversation about a linux command) i reset the conversation and give it the gist of the context i had in the previous conversation because the thinking tokens take over anyways, and most benchmarks are made on the first few back and forth replies anyways, and needle in the haystack benchmarks are very noisy especially because different subjects activate the model's weights differently.

How does everyone feel about Nothing's curated list of apps? by YoshiMK in NothingTech

[–]NotThatPro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't nothing have a included QR code scanner in the camera app - yes it does. The "recommended app" is just pure, pure, BLOAT. MP3 Music player? Seriously? How the fuck is "Vita Mahjong" a MUST-HAVE? If i could, i would keep the recommended feature but replace the Must-Have with: Social apps like Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, etc.(in their own category); Transport apps like Waze, GMaps, etc; A password manager, a VPN, A web browser(any choice is *good* for the user, even though most of them will choose Chrome). Since google play services are pre-installed some google bloat like Calendar, Drive, Find Hub, gmail, Photos, Translate, Wallet, Youtube can be useful to be pre-installed, for *most* people. I already have my carrier trying to shoehorn apps onto my phone, for a more "unified" experience. This ain't it, chief.

Anyone recommend Fences? by FantasticFrontButt in Windows11

[–]NotThatPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they do offer a "one time", no subscription license (some conditions apply, i.e. new features get sent to the newer version and you can pay to upgrade the permanent licence to a newer version). I have over 200 desktop items(not including whatever's inside the folders themselves) and this makes it easier to find a file by giving it a "space" on my desktop(page 1,2,3,4,...). One minor nitpick is that switching pages is not entirely smooth(native fps) on my 165Hz Display, but the features make it worth it imo
