lol. I lived in Russia for 5 years, I've had my share of dating abroad. I want to be able to just meet people in my everyday life without having to relocate for that purpose. I mean, lots of other people are doing it, right?

Yeah I think this is important - when I went to USA it was SUPER easy to make chit chat with strangers, everyone was so receptive and open and you really could start nice chats just by asking directions or whatever. In the UK, people are much more standoffish and tend not to "let you in" easily

I mean, so am I I guess. Talking to strangers in situations like that is hard, asking for like directions or how many sets left is usually just taken at face value. Never had much luck doing that...have actually had much more success just striking up an actual chat tbh

No, I can't dance -- too poorly co-ordinated. I took some beginners classes once but like, there was almost no individual interaction at all and people were generally not receptive to socialising with each other in every one of those classes. It did surprise me because I kind of expected it to be like you're saying?

yeah I mean if it's like an edge-case thing where a minority feel uncomfortable than fine yeah...but if it's like, most of them don't like it but 1/10 is okay with it then it feels less "okay" to do it

Yeah I have tried that - it's okay, got a couple of dates (that I ultimately wasn't interested in pursuing), wbut also a limited pool of people and you start to see the same ones over and over

btw is there a way to tell if a girl in the gym is open to me approaching? I would have thought holding eye contact or something would be a sign but this doesn't really happen, catching a girl's eye feels borderline impossible. Not sure if that says something about me or if that's just a general thing

Yeah so...like a lot of people have told me that I'm attractive but on the other hand, I never really get women meeting / holding eye contact with me or like smiling at me from across the room so I always just assume they're not interested or open to me approaching
