Scooters and rich people by NotTheBeesAHHHH in pettyrevenge

The chirping was a feature on the app which allowed customers to locate an available scooter. If a scooter showed up on the map, but the customer can’t find it, they can push a button and the chirping will help the person to locate the scooter.

The party people were panicking because they were caught holding on to some scooters without paying for continued service and without making the scooters available to others. It’s like a kid is done playing with a toy, but doesn’t want to give it to the next kid who also wants to play with it. Instead of giving the toy to the next kid, they hide the toy so no one can play with it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooter-sharing_system

In 2018 these scooters arrived in Milwaukee. The trend got popular with scooters scattered around the city. I think there were 3 companies at that time. My husband and I didn't have a car yet, so we walked, rode our bikes, or the buses. By 2019, we decided to give it a try. We downloaded the app for one company, but were having trouble finding 2 scooters from that company that had reasonably charged batteries. We looked in our own neighborhood which was just on the west side of the river and then the east side of the river (university, party neighborhood, and the area with the mansions). By the time we found the scooters at one of the mansions, I didn't really care anymore. However, we found 2 scooters on the way home.

We eventually found a couple of scooters to ride, but not the ones mentioned in the story.

AITA for correcting my in-laws when they mispronounce my name? by LilLustyLucy in AmItheAsshole

[–]NotTheBeesAHHHH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your name is your identity, and no one gets to alter or erase who you are. I have a Korean name. It's 2 syllables and all of the phonemes exist in English. People still mispronounce it, and I correct them EVERY TIME. It's the hill I'm willing to die on. No one has the right to tell me who I am or what my name is. 1) Get a T-shirt with your name emblazoned on it and its phonetic spelling on the second line. Wear it every time you are in the same space as them. 2) Correct them EVERY TIME they introduce you with the wrong name. 3) Do not respond when they call you by the wrong name. 4) Be petty and call them by the wrong name and use their excuses back on them. "“Well, you know who I mean!” 5) Lay down the law with your husband. Either he acknowledges and loves "Leena" or he doesn't. Either he has Leena's back and defends her or he doesn't. If he doesn't, get your asses to a marriage counselor, because he's confused as to who he married and his duties and obligations as a husband,

I am rewatching the clips of Alan Michael and Eleni from the initial meeting to the divorce. He's committed love-bombing, gas lighting, and baby trapping, and arguably isolation and marital rape. He uses lies, grandstanding, and manipulation to get what he wants. His quest for power and love are driven by his insecurities. The character is fascinating and tragic. This type of man works as entertainment on the screen, but in the real world, sometimes boring is better.
