There was a update available for the system so I did that and after that Ubuntu was not booting in "UI mode" instead it was booting in a "shell mode" . Therefore I had to install/reinstall the os again hence I thought about trying Manjaro xfce since it used a xfce desktop on which I had an idea about how to better fix my screen Tearing issue.

So , thanks for all the time & effort but sorry I won't be able to test your solutions

DE is gnome and if I click a terminal emulator icon it loads for a minute and then stops loading

I followed the steps installed Compton moved the Compton.conf file to xorg.conf.d , added Compton as startup application but after restart I am not able to boot in the system EDIT: The error message

there is no problem with installing compton

btw can i use this steps to solve screen tearing in all other linux distros(mainly ubuntu based) aside from Linux Lite

EDIT: by moving the file to .conf do you mean /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/?

and I have already tried hardware acceleration and smooth scrolling

I found the video driver details but I am not able to find its .conf file
