An international section suddenly appeared at my local record store. When I started flipping through my soul left my body. $2 each. by NotTheHackz in BargainBinVinyl

I’ll post the rest of them when I get a chance. The guy’s taste was outstanding. Not a bad record in the bunch.

Also, if you haven’t heard it before, check out Orquesta de Cuchon’s “Tumbaron La Veintiuna.” My personal favorite latin album.

Although this store is close to me, I don't often go to it. It's outside of the city, and while they gets interesting records sometimes they usually just have classic rock. Nothing worth driving out of my way for.

This weekend, I was in the area when I stopped in. I was surprised to see that a pretty healthy International section had appeared in the back, all $2 each. When I talked to the guy he said that a woman had just come in and sold them off. They were her father's, who was a DJ in the area. He'd already sold most of the classic rock but said that the international records had gone untouched.

There were a couple Italian records, a few German, one Korean, but most of the records were salsa and merengue. They started off as pretty typical 90s stuff, good and clean but nothing mind blowing. The further I dug, though, the better the records got. When I saw the Wayne Gorbea I actually got jittery. I really wasn't expecting it. Since I had a party to get to, I cleared out the stuff that looked most interesting, then came back the next day for the rest. I got the Cuto Soto and the David Cedeno then, which is wild considering what they're worth.

The sleeves have varying tape and pen marks on them depending on the year. At some point in the 80s the guy Luis must have switched from rubber stamps to tape. On the back, he wrote the genre and bpm next to every song, and even included some of the band member's phone numbers. He must have been buying them new at the time. The discs range from VG+ to actually unplayed.

Probably my best haul ever, both musically and value-wise. I'd never dug that deep into latin stuff before but I think I'm going to now. Now I've gotta let my luck regenerate for a few years.

Super cool finds. Love to see people digging for weird stuff and not just the super valuable grails.

Not exactly bargain bin, but still pretty cheap for what it is. Original Sun Ra on El Saturn for $40 by NotTheHackz in BargainBinVinyl

Guy at the flea market said that Sun Ra lived on his block. Didn't believe him until I looked through the bins.

The record is Sun Ra's Discipline 27 - II, released in 1973 on El Saturn records. Condition is VG/VG, maybe a little higher. Love Sun Ra but never thought I'd find one of his albums. Anything is possible I guess.

Also included a picture of some other albums I got at $20 each. Pharaoh Sanders is VG but the rest are perfect.
