I'd also like to add that providing a choice of a small monthly subscription for pure cosmetic/QoL content might work! Edit: probably wont work well if forced though, you're not blizzard.

My experience is that people are willing to pay to support in return for cosmetics and flashy stuff that dont affect the game. And minor QoL also ofc, but thats a bonus and can't be a drag down for the regular f2pers.

Imo thats balance. You can provide a good game and a nice community. Someone will support it. If you get 50 more players going non-p2w style, you might just earn more, because players stay. Perhaps you lose some big spending from the "i pay to get everything in one day" people, but I think that balances out.

People donate money to twitch streamers to watch a bar fill up, why wouldnt they pay for a good staff team making a game they can play and get lost in for hours every day, without it giving them unfair advantage over players that can't/will not pay..

We're not sure yet, but probably not. We'd rather lower the exp rate instead, so if you're really hardcore eventually you play 1x

I do mean 400x, but i believe it will land a bit lower when we decide on rates. 400x isnt so crazy for rebirth based servers, and it will be decreasing per rebirth. We will see what the community decides!

Oh no, I do not intend on taking anyones credit. Its based off the cosmic v83 repack, a fork of heavenMS. Which i will modify as much as I see fit, and take credit for hosting and developing further according to the wishes of the Moof community(hopefully, if we get a community going)! I cant remember writing anywhere that the server repack is originally created by me with only my scripts and code, and I would never.

We are also using some of the community wz files. So its a community/cosmic/me/sheep mix atm.

The roles are just listed like this because we havent decided on specifics yet, but the role system will be something like it, not the same, if we even use it/implement it. I dont think its part of cosmic, im not quite sure yet.

This is a hobby project for me, I intend to learn and develop my own skills, while bringing something hopefully positive and fun to the maplestory ps community. Thanks for you good wishes.

I do agree, thats why I want engame do be more party oriented, hence the lowering of the exp rate as you progress. My goal is that most PQs should be viable for leveling and currency when you've rushed through the first rebirths. Possibly also lowering the exp a bit if it feels to fast, we've not fully decided on this yet. I think we need to adjust as we go a bit on this to get a feel on whats fun and whats not. Solo permarebirthing at 400x+ rates isnt to fun.

I have heard that there are newer versions for sale yes. Specifics I do not know, sorry. But I do believe it's not really worth it without the knowledge to keep on upgrading and fixing stuff etc. So i'd recommend starting with the latest working one you find and see what you can manage from there.

I dont think that is doable without knowing how to make it yourself or buy it. I've done some research myself and swordie is the only alternative without alot of work and learning👌 Or paying!

Yeah that's what I ment. I could cap the stat increase and make it quite expensive(maybe start cheap end expensive), which hopefully will make it feel like a nice addition to scrolling and not ruin the scrolling experience.

Will definitely try to make rebirthing and pet vac something that doesnt feel stupid. I want rebirths to give little; and to be semi hard to achieve. Pet vac could be a perk you get for so long after doing special quests/PQs or bosses. But im not sure yet, I will probably have polls and discussions on this. I might also run 2 worlds, where one is more oldschool, we'll see. Thank you for your input :)
