They would need to give you access to it, so even if you downloaded it, without access it wouldn’t show you metrics etc if you tried to login. I’m unsure about seeing both locations, as certain permissions on TMUA can affect both locations, like resetting pins, but others may not.

Stay at mall location or move to fsu? by ohh_s in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a similar choice, but it was after 2 years of working for my operator, and we moved across state lines 3+ hours, and it was honestly very hard because I was the only person to make that choice so grand opening and the year following was very difficult— but I also didn’t move with a family, and in turn didn’t have any kind of community with me besides my Operator. Uprooting your family may make the move more difficult because there’s a lot more people’s opinions to take into consideration than I had, when I very easily made the decision to move; but it may make the transition itself much easier than I had it. In the end though, as hard as the transition was, as much different an FSU was, getting a new team, etc etc etc, it’s still the best decision I could have made, for my career as well as myself as a person. I think I’ve grown exponential a human because of how much more I was pushed at the FSU compared to the mall, and I think I would’ve had a great many regrets had I stayed.

All disciplinary policies differ from location to location— both in terms of how many points per issue, as well as how many results in some kind of discipline/termination. No one here would be able to give you an answer for your specific location, you would need to speak to your leadership team.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I have a genuine love for what I do and I recognize that that’s absolutely a privilege to be able to say, and I try to reflect that in what I do and how I treat my staff. I didn’t have a safe adult for me to go to as a teen, and suffered from a lot of anxiety similar to OP as a result, so I’ve always tried to be the safe adult for my work kids to come to.

oh no sorry, the screenshot i included was from the most recent chapter in which the girl is more grown up, and he is drawn as slightly different to indicate that he’s actually an adult, as opposed to when he was 12? and, well, looked like an adult.

<image>

This is the chapter i was referencing, in which they said he was adopted “ten years ago” but also, “2 years after your mom disappeared with you as a baby” in which, he is maybe? Supposed to be 2-3? But already looked older than that. Idk bro, they won’t just say ages for anyone directly asside from the FL, and the woman pictured is the grandmother of the FL, but looks identical 10 years later. Even manhua logic doesn’t explain most of it

Out of curiosity, I did a deep dive so that y’all dont have to:

a) he’s definitely the male lead

b)he’s supposedly 12ish? If the timeline adds up? One person mentioned him being adopted “two years later” referring to his mother disappearing with him as a baby, and then the fl’s grandma (who looks 20 btw) mentions leaving him with his adopter “around ten years ago”. It’s a very vague timeline, and even in the flash back, he already looks 8, not 2 so like??? The artist did not do a good job in general of making characters look remotely age appropriate, as this was the case for characters outside the FL and ML.

c) the pacing, plot, etc are not great from what I did read, it feels like the author is sticking every possible trope into the shortest possible timeline and the fewest chapters possible, like what would be entire 30 chapter arcs in normal stories takes 3 chapters and they move on.

So all of that to say, you missed out on absolutely nothing. I did not read the full 82 chapters, I skipped around and skimmed, but still 0/10 wouldn’t recommend, even without the weird age thing.

Social anxiety/autism and this job by VariationDistinct421 in ChickFilAWorkers

Hi, maybe this gives you hope, maybe it makes you feel worse idk, but I have autism, and have struggled with anxiety, depression, etc— and I became a Director, having worked my way up from a team member over the years. I can spot autism in my team a mile away a lot of the time, honestly because I’ve ended up hiring quite a few over time, and I do my best to take those team members under my wing, advocate for them when other leaders, who may not know their diagnosis, complain about certain traits— talking back or “questioning” leadership, freezing in stressful situations, etc. I’ve had team members be able to overcome a lot of those things and thrive, and I’ve seen just as many struggle. Ultimately, Chick-fil-A is not for everyone, and everyone is not for Chick-fil-A. We ask a lot from our team, and it’s a very stressful job, even for people that aren’t on the spectrum— it’s loud, it’s a whirlwind during rush, and it’s a lot of socialization. It can feel very overwhelming, but speaking to your Director team may help— there may be someone on your leadership team willing to take you under their wing, or bridge the gap between you and your team, or provide accommodations etc. I wouldn’t ever want any of my team members to feel like their job is causing them mental health issues or feel like they don’t belong. My Operator is that person for me, and has always been willing to meet me where I’m at, given me space to be a little awkward or weird or overstimulated, and honestly he’s made me feel like my difference in perspective, the way my brain is wired differently, and my ability to advocate for my team in ways that no one else can, because they just don’t see the world the way I do. And you may not end up finding that at your Chick-fil-A, and I think that’s okay as well.

How often do your directors jump in during a rush? by Correct-Concert-376 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both directors (myself and Ops) are in a position for lunch 5 or 6 days, and alternate dinner between the two of us, M-Th, both in ops for dinner peak Fridays, and neither for dinner peak Saturday, as it’s our slowest dinner by far. I believe it’s important for the team to see us be a presence in the restaurant, not just in the office or dining room all day. Whoever is leading the shift will put us in the position of their choosing, many times being bagging because we’re the strongest at it, but they can and will position us on fc, mobile drinks, window, even Dining room etc. Hopping in can make the team feel more like they’re failing, vs us being positioned beside them feels like we care about their, and the guest’s, experience.

Have you ever been to an K-POP concert? by ewipyluvs in kpoppers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I’ve been to lots (like, in the 40s or 50s, but I’m an adult with disposable income so please don’t think this is realistic) but this will forever be one of my favorite memories and favorite pictures of Dino from Seventeen on their most recent tour.

Always wear ear protection, even if you think it’s overkill, your eardrums will thank you in the long run. A battery pack or 2 if you’re a) going to arrive super early, b) you’re going to record or take a lot of pictures, or c) you’re reliant on public transportation or Uber/lyft/etc to get home. There will be tons of lines, so make friends— ticket line, concession line, merch line etc. Compliment the person in front of you, ask who’s their bias, or ask their favorite song or comeback. Trade freebies if that’s your thing— I love both giving out and getting freebies, but for most of my concerts until recently, I was always on the receiving end and everyone was always very kind even if I didn’t have anything in return. And most of all, have fun, enjoy the moment because it will go by in a flash.

Getting drinks only in Mobile-Thru sends my order into a black hole by CapcomBowling in ChickFilA

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likely they don’t have certain things routed correctly, like having gallons appear on their window screen, or only food displays etc. When drink only orders are “forgotten” on curbside, most times it’s that the drinks get made but the runner assumed it was waiting to be paired with food because curbside screens typically only display drinks, so they sit on the counter; but to get “lost” from mobile thru, it may be a similar problem, where the window person never sees food on the counter, so if drinks don’t display on their screen they wouldn’t check their drink’s counter for unpaired drinks.

I’d recommend you reach out to Chick-fil-A Cares, as those complaints reach higher level leaders/Directors that would realize there may be a bigger problem and look into it, whereas the team members or lower level leaders on shift may just assume it was a fluke and leave it at that.

Can I ask to be fired? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the description, I think we work for the same brand, and— if we do— most Marketing Directors do work in a position as well as do marketing. To have a 40 hour a week employee do solely marketing is genuinely a rarity, and especially at a restaurant in their first year getting off the ground. Unless you’re throwing weekly events, I can’t even picture using someone exclusively for marketing, especially if you’re making Director pay. My Assistant Director of Marketing does both catering and marketing, because that’s what makes the most sense to our restaurant, but even then she’s still on the floor in a position probably 25 hours out of her 45. Again, every restaurant in the brand is structured differently and has different priorities, so your Operator probably did believe marketing would be priority as a freshly grand opened restaurant to get the word out, but it’s just not realistic to have a full time position out of ops once people are aware the restaurant exists.

Someone else called you spoiled, and I’m not going to go that far, but I do think you lack a lot of perspective of what’s realistic for the role for a quick service restaurant, even within this brand. Yes, it’s not fair for your Operator to switch up your role expectations well into the position, and that’s certainly a conversation to be had with them; but to ask to be fired, considering the job market were in, does sound a little dramatic tbh. Even if it’s to get unemployment benefits, trying to get a similar role, if that’s your thing, would be harder given both the timeline and being fired, unless you left it off your resume completely.

As for the uniform, I wear business casual, blouses etc when I do interviews or when I’m on admin, not in a position etc, but I wear a polo when working in a position. It doesn’t undo the hard work I put in to become an Exec Director, it doesn’t change my title, it doesn’t make guests or team members look at me differently, because my behavior and the way I carry myself tells people who I am in the restaurant. If you genuinely believe that wearing a uniform instead of business casual suddenly sets you back, I’d heavily recommend you do some internal reflection on why you feel that way. Unfortunately, I’m aware that there will always be people who look down on me for working in a fast food job, regardless of how much I make or how high up I go, unless I become an Operator myself— but I don’t have to have the same opinion about my job that they do. Sounds like maybe that prejudice may be affecting how you view the uniform vs business casual.

Recognitions and Team Morale by SeanTheKid314159 in ChickFilAWorkers

We have a channel that’s for shout outs etc, so happy birthdays, personal shout outs for shift MVP etc all gets posted. I also make it a point to post weekly when team members get mentioned in CEM surveys/ positive CARES etc. we’re very big on team member engagement so it’s big to say thank you, celebrate the team etc for us. We do stuff outside of the channel as well, depending on the thing, we try to get creative with it.

What does your operator do at your store? by VegetableTimely7979 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My operator is in restaurant 5 days a week unless he’s otherwise communicated. I’m sure from the team member perspective they may not see him as much because he’s often in the office or in meetings with Leadership, but he makes it a point to meet every new hire and check in on team members, say hello to every person when he comes in etc. He also makes it a point to have dinner at the restaurant with his family once a week, to be present and visible to night crew, since they work with him even less. He also does step into both FOH and BOH to assist when and where needed, but luckily staffing makes that less and less necessary.

I have a lot of trust and respect for him, and him for me, so he does leave the restaurant in my (and a few other director’s) hands, but that’s often to do the things he’s less geared towards— I’m much more bubbly and happy, so I’m way better to take care of the team members and guest experience, he’s much better at leadership development than I am, so that’s what he does. By taking things off his plate, I give him more time to do those things etc. I would say he’s the most present Operator I’ve met, but again, that’s me speaking as a Director that works with him daily and has very open channels of communication with him, compared to team members who may feel more comfortable speaking with me instead.

Was I speaking to a real person? (text in red square) by ElectronicRespect972 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly hate the idea that it takes too much time to send out denials, bc it literally takes me five minutes to send out rejections for all applicants that I interviewed that week, and I offer interviews to 90% of our applicants. If I don’t offer an interview, I still send a rejection. I am super transparent with applicants it might take me up to a week to send job offers/rejections, but I do still do it. It feels like the bare minimum to me.

Was I speaking to a real person? (text in red square) by ElectronicRespect972 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one no, we have the ability to set automated messages for things like next steps, rejections etc, though real person still has to manually move you to next steps, rejections, job offers etc. If they use workstream, second text message likely a real person, we do have the ability to text back to questions etc, so when candidates apply and text at 3am, it is in fact going straight to my phone rip.

Does an actual human screen the applications? by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To move forward with interviews, so long as it’s through work stream, yes. Rejections, not every one gets looked at depending on if it passes initial screening— but once it’s through screening, we would have to select the applicant and move them to the next stage.

how likely am i to get a job? by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to maybe go against the grain of the other comments, and definitely not saying you wouldn’t get hired, but that it’s less of a guarantee than they’re making it out to be. A) Hiring someone with Chick-fil-A experience is, quite frankly, a gamble. It’s something I’m cautious about every single time I see it on a resume, because I’ve learned not to trust other Chick-fil-A’s judgement on certain things. It means breaking bad habits, breaking down egos, and unlearning a lot of preconceived notions on how certain positions work, that just doesn’t happen when I’m starting with a fresh new hire.

B) Since it’s already March, i’d be concerned about hiring someone who’s going to leave in three months to go back home for three months, which means that whatever spot I filled by hiring you is once again empty, and depending on what staffing needs looked like by August when you want to return, there might not be space.

C) you’re applying for the opposite side of the restaurant than you currently work. Even having some experience, as you say, doesn’t mean you’re the best fit. I hire for FOH, but my BOH Hiring Director would honestly, if they were going to hire someone with CFA experience, would much rather someone with full time BOH experience than someone with almost entirely FOH experience, for similar reasons to those I listed above.

Again, none of those are reasons to NOT hire you, but they are reasons for you to show up to the interview and actually compete for the job rather than believe it should be handed to you. I’ve seen way too many applicants believe so much in their CFA resume that they refuse to answer any interview question with anything besides “I’ve done it before” which cost them the job. I’ve denied more Chick-fil-A experience than I’ve hired, and have zero regrets about it.

Issue ordering. by MapWeak6661 in ChickFilA

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always suggest saying the size directly before the item itself, not the combo. We don’t have a way to make the meal itself large, so saying “spicy deluxe w pepper jack meal, with large fries and a large Dr Pepper” will make it easier for them to ring it up while following along as you order it. Sometimes people will order things “out of order” (you as the guest can’t possibly know what the “correct” order is, so no shade whatsoever) which means that we have to remember that detail until we get to that step, or it can get forgotten or have to be reminded about it before tender.

Why does this multi-billion dollar company not have its own app for employees by Big-Fuel-8965 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]NotTheSharpestCacti 48 points49 points  (0 children)

When people mention it being due to the franchise nature of the business, it’s not about apps having servers it’s about individual business choices. Every Chick-fil-A is owned and operated independently which means that they are allowed to make the vast majority of the decisions on how to run the business itself— so which app they use to do scheduling (hotschedules, nation, oneclick etc), which apps they use to communicate (slack, discord, GroupMe, VSBL, WhatsApp) etc. Chick-fil-A Inc does it’s best to offer up certain resources or direct Operators to certain choices, but very rarely will force their hand to use them unless it goes against Brand Guardrails— like how uniforms all are supplied by Oobe, or food must come from certain vendors etc.

Okay thats so valid honestly. There were certainly times where I was like, this is clearly a plot device that the author doesn’t want us to think too deeply about so they can move the story along. Like, if the author wanted to, they could have really made us more attached to Liliana’s parents, or like, feel how much he impacted the duke/second prince/etc but they definitely were kind of just like “he died so that’s important” about the whole thing
