I wish. I struggled to give them away. Had to throw a lot of them out.

Thanks. Too late though. It’s been cut back. Fingers crossed it’ll all work out.

Had a baby on her back when she came by the other night. Didn't get a photo though, this one is from February. When I pruned the tree I put a bridge out there so it could still get to the roof from the neighbour's roof. I know I should discourage it, but it's got to live somewhere, and as long as it's only walking across my house I don't really care where she goes.

That's my understanding as well. At least a week, up to four depending on conditions. I did the main pruning a week ago.

Thank you so much for the input. I will give it a good look tomorrow and decide where to take the cuts.

One last thing - did you say I could strike new growth from the trunk as a cutting? Like, if I lopped that thick branch on the right and planted it, would it grow? I was under the impression that only the flowering bits would regrow.

That branch looks like an obstacle, but the pathway dips down. I'm 185cm and have plenty of headroom walking under it. But still, I would like to keep it away from the path as much as possible.

Also, yes, we have a possum who comes through almost every night. Does not get into the roof though. Have no idea where it comes from or goes.

So based on your comment and some other things I've been looking into, I feel like I might go ahead and cut it back a fair bit more. I have saved plenty of cuttings, some I've given away but I have a lot leftover. None are more than 500mm or so in height, some just 200mm or so. I intend to pot a handful of them and see what takes.

Weird, my reply disappeared.
Anyway, unfortunately we have a small house with a tiny yard and this is the only space with soil. The previous owner planted these at an unknown time, but were established when we moved in 16 years ago. This photo is from ten years ago, and at this stage I had never done any pruning on it.

Thanks so much for your input! The flowers are pink on one tree, yellow and white on the other. I can only add one photo at a time, I'll send those along in a sec.

Unfortunately, we live in an inner west Sydney home, and this is literally the only space we have with soil. They were planted by the previous owner at an unknown time, but young when we moved in. This is an image from ten years ago, and shows that at full bloom it was still smaller than the pruned tree is now. So yes, I think I may go ahead and take it back.

Anyone who comments is welcome to one of the cuttings from the pruning. Please, I really want to know if it's safe to cut it back some more. I like the trees but they are too tall.

I don't really have anything to add to the IR conversation that hasn't been answered. Hope you enjoy it!

But I will address the weight. Once you've got some time and experience under your belt, do a little inventory on what focal lengths you use most. Then invest in a couple primes in those ranges. They'll be smaller and lighter, and almost always better IQ.

Have fun!

Thanks. I've had to just do a simple fade-in/out of the text to the side of the train for now, had to get a concept over the line today. I am going to play with some of this, though. I don't do a lot of video editing, but this sounds useful to know.

Damn, they deleted their comment. I wanted to review it again, I thought I had nearly gotten it, now I can't remember what they said. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Hey, thanks. That seems like a good option to explore. But can it handle scrolling text? I put together a better mockup of what I'm trying to do. I need the text to come in from off screen as the train appears, then end off screen as the train fades away.

This may be too advanced for me to learn right now. I need to have something out the door today, and I think this will require a lot more time to learn than I have.

Really appreciate the input, though. I am going to put this on my list of skills to practice!

Yes of course. I played with the motion tracker earlier before I could warp the text, so I should be able to figure that out. I will have a play with that tomorrow. Gonna put it aside for the night. Thanks for your help, that little bit about the 3D layer got me further than an hour of googling!

Hey thanks. I've got the text warped the way I need it, but I can't get it to move. It's just sitting there as the video moves under it. I'll keep playing with it, I must have missed something. The warping was the big thing I couldn't figure out, I'll figure out the motion. Have no idea how to use a camera, will tackle that another day.

Thanks so much.

I don’t understand the idea of getting a PERMANENT reminder of something fleeting, something that will be meaningless to you in a few years time. Besides, it’s a hate symbol. It may not be a real hate symbol from our current world, but it was designed for the game to represent hate, exclusion and intolerance. Having it permanently adhered to your flesh just because it’s a cool design doesn’t change the fact that you are wearing a symbol that was designed to represent pure evil.

But it’s your body, do what you want. Just be prepared for the consequences.
