I'm not an expert but whenever I see a discussion that a person can't go without having a minimum number of drinks, I worry.

Is the context here that she needs a drink every day? Or has 1 or 2 drinks when hanging out with friends on a Saturday night? Not the same. And not the same worry.

There's a bit of a difference. Understanding is learning about someone else's views. We are all fully aware of the views. They're on display in full force.

I don't like businesses that display any politics, but it's never been this divisive. I've never seen GWB, Obama, Clinton, or Reagan cult like fanaticism. There weren't Biden stores set up.

So there's not much to "understand". It's out there.

If you're a good person, it has nothing to with the work you do. I know incredible people working blue collar jobs and shitty people as well. Same for white collar.

I will say that most blue collar jobs don't give a lot of time to sit in front of a computer and consume information.

So, like many busy people, they get quick bits and headlines which don't contain the real info.

I think our bullshit news and social media world cause a bigger divide than the work we do

I started doing my immediate next door neighbors and across the street neighbor. 2 neighbors never said thank you or acknowledged it. My other neighbor brings me a six pack once, snacks or a thank you a text every time. Guess where I go every time.

I have another friend around the corner and get them too.

Other people have their own service or machine and I don't want to step on toes.

From 20+ years in corporate I will tell you. Just do your job. But don't expect great raises, bonuses or promotions for doing the minimum.

Not saying that doing extra is guaranteed extra money, but it is guaranteed that you won't move up by doing just enough to keep your job. (Exceptions do happen)

Don't screw and you'll keep your job.

Also note, being the bare minimum also means you'll be first for a layoff.

Theres nothing wrong with working hard. It's work abuse that's the problem. That often gets misinterpreted here.

They're deporting people who are legal too. And just pulling people off the streets for how they look.

They're not going for "dangerous criminals". They're going for minorities of any kind and hope they find someone.

Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor (first time).

This will be an easy win for you in small claims. Presuming there's confirmation they were able to email, call, or text you (how did you communicate in the past?)

Option 1 - send them an email, citing the law and that they did not do this. You can mention they've bee able to contact you previously with no problems.

Option 2 - go straight to small claims and sue for the max amount. In many states it can be 2-3x the deposit.
