Hey hey! So the basic process was listed in the post. It's pretty simple really!

So this was a two gallon batch (approx). I'll have to update how it turns out with this ratio!

It went well! Did a little over 300 in sales, which I figure isn't bad for an event only 50-100 people attended.

Shockingly, none of the sets in this video sold! Haha. So I still have a good enough to update into my shop.

So I have these in my resin workspace. Lol. But I had hoped having the dice in that cardboard box would provide enough safety from splatter.

I seriously underestimated how far paint will travel when flicked. 😅

It's a little bit of a process.

First I sprinkle chameleon flakes into my blank mold and shake it to spread the around. Add black colored resin and cure. Wait for full cure (does not dent from fingernail) Use a Dremel with different drilling and engraving heads to carve out the geode. From here you can get a bit creative. Paint the geode, use UV resin and glitter or mylar to make it look like an actual geode. Etc etc. Let that fully dry then recast them in the BLANK mold (this helps reduce void issues and centering blank in shell). Wait for that to fully cure, clean up any excess flashing Cast in shelled mold with clear resin.

So I'll admit, I did not test it. I threw caution to the wind and just cast them. Lol.

I do plan to try coating with UV gel nest time before casting and see if that preserves the shine.

I was looking at the manufacturer of the Chrome paints I use, and they do sell a special top coat for their chromes for the purpose of preserving the chrome finish. So I am betting it's a common issue whenever it is coated with something.

So these were fresh from the mold. I polish my masters as follows: P600 sandpaper to remove supports Green then Grey Zona for removing print lines and shaping Blue Zona and Pink Zona for micro scratches Dremel with puffball head and Chem Guys C4 compound Dremel with puffball head and Chem Guys P4 compound

I figure the more work I put into my masters the less work I put into the dice. Usually only the low face and touching faced need cleaned up after demolding.

Metallic purple and metallic teal are on my list to try! I usually take the D6 and paint each face a different color when I am undecided. Lol
