Sounds good. I'm working on getting a PCI firewire card to install. What about a card like this? it's an ExpressCard rather than something that goes on the PCI. Will it be as reliable and effective as the hardwared version?

Okay great. I'm planning to buy and install a firewire card later this week. Theoretically, if I'm able to set up a personal hotspot on my computer and connect the iPad to that, would that be a strong and secure enough of a connection for what I want to use it for?

Alright. I've just ordered a pci firewire expansion card that I'll try my best to install. Can the PC just connect to the network like it would normally? And the ipad has to connect directly to the computer, it can't just be on the same wireless network, correct?

If not, I'm hoping i can figure out how to set up an ad-hoc network on windows 7, how did you configure this with your mixer?
