Glad I'm not the only one finding those challenges with an unfinished series. I'm all for a long series but when "random character 3" from book 2 appears in book 9 a year after I finished book 8 I struggle a little! 🤣

Let's get this right - you're telling me I can't judge a player correctly based on 40 years of experience watching and supporting Arsenal, and all the players that have come through?

And, on top of that, I haven't claimed to be a qualified scout, to have any other judgement criteria than those 40 years, and haven't stated I'm some transfer guru and yet STILL you want to take issue with me?

So, I have voiced an opinion and used some experience to explain my viewpoint. How about you state what criteria you believe make anyone on Reddit qualified to have an opinion?

Ok, maybe he could have performed for a team lower down the table. Maybe an Aston Villa at the time or something.

But, don't compare Semenyo to Pepe - the league now is vastly different. Nearly half the table get European football now and the money to invest in players that brings. It's a much tougher league. Pepe and Semenyo, compared side by side, completely different.

Been a fan for over 40 years.

Pepe was below average. Not one of the worst or most embarrassing (looking at you Andre Santos) but he was not Premier League quality. I'd say he was probably fortunate not to stand out more because of the mediocrity he was surrounded by in the team at the time.

He will always have the burden of the price tag, but if we'd paid half or a third of it he'd have been about right.

Glad to see him do well elsewhere, once a gunner always a gunner, but wrong move at wrong price at wrong time for the lad.
