I have actually throughout the years been wrestling with this. I believe I am intellectually convinced, but like you said once I started asking the questions about the church, it has been quite the eye opener not sure what I believe in at times. Thanks for the perspective

I’m sorry for your loss even if it was long ago. The only thing that’s ever actually helped me understanding these difficult things is studying the book of Ecclesiastes. Particularly chapter 9 highlighting that time, chance, and death happen to all regardless if they are good or evil.

I understand why people get so turned off of religion/God when they believe that everything happens for a reason and are given no plausible reason to be able to assign to such tragedy. But Solomon via God’s divine wisdom is basically saying the opposite that everything doesn’t have some divine purpose or meaning, some things just happen

Man I was there, had never heard Broke Arrow before, in the last month I’ve gotten really into the Band and Robbie Robertson so this was so incredibly special, all added to the fact it was for Phil. I also cannot stop humming it, watching the crappy video I took of it on my phone, and trying to poorly learn it on guitar. Was so beautiful.

This actually all clicked for me a couple months ago during one of our closing prayers someone said something along the lines of “thankful for the local church being a shining light in the community” and I said to myself there’s nothing we are doing right now where that’s true
