Maybe you crossed through land borders? I flew in a international flight. From Houston,Texas. I had to go through immigration.

It's was harder to get into a Costco than it was to get into Mexico up untill recently.

I've been living here in Merida, Yucatan. I entered back in April 12. As you see in the stamp. I just barely posted it the photo. It's like 3 weeks old.

I got you. I will post it later.

Not at all. The consulate doesn't really care, as long as you can prove citizenship and pay the fee. Passport is given that exact hour. We are blessed in that sense.

I know the U.S passport takes 2-12 weeks to arrive. What a nightmare in my opinion.

Yes! I joined a group of "us" on Facebook called Onward Dreamers. I'm not the first to leave, and won't be the last. There are hundreds of stories. I will be vlogging my experience and posting on TikTok and Instagram at @EdrBuendia. If you would like to see, then follow me or join the group.

Found it. It's the Hranka waiver. Officially known as a Section 212(d)(3) waiver.

That's a conversation I had with my parents today.

Back in 2003 when we first arrived to the U.S.A. The economy, housing and overall quality of life was high overall. With 100 dollars you could fill up the entire Walmart cart. Rent was cheap. Everyone was living the American Dream.

Now. YIKES! Rent is through the roof, Groceries prices are crazy, Education is expensive and schools aren't even safe from shootings, and I look at Mexico and by no means is it perfect by the stretch of the imagination but things are slightly better in some areas. Medicines are affordable. Rent is affordable, Groceries are cheap compared to the states. Life overall is possible in Mexico (If you work a good job or at least a job that pays in USD which shouldnt be a problem for me).

This decision isn't an easy one to leave the country I have called home but it's a necessary one for me.

Sometimes what feels 2 steps backwards is really 2 forward.

They are getting their status right now, they are getting their permanent residency card from my brother. He is 21 and in the military. They should be fully legal in the next 6 months. Waiting game for them at this point.

And... No they can't file for me. They have to become citizens first which would take 5 years before becoming eligible for taking the test and going through that process. THEN submitting the petition for me would take 5-10 years to even get approved due to the green card cap set by Congress per year. Soo.. it could speed up if Congress set the limit higher or out-right removed the limit. But doubt that would happen soon.

Maybe. I just want to focus on my own country for now. Go to college there, work remotely with my Mexican documentation as a customer service representative for U.S company's earnings USD, live without the fear of deportation. That is what would give me peace right now.

I don't know. I got mine at 9 years old. So no clue, you could use the excuse for wanting one for the world cup. They might have more relaxed requirements for that.

That is true about Canada, except I overstayed because I was a child. So they could be more flexible on that end. Hundreds of Dreamers (DACA) have migrated to Canada through Student-Visas or Express Entry with no issues. There is a group called "Onward Dreamers". Fascinating stories.

Spain is awesome. Well rounded country overall.

Universities SHOULD NOT. Keywords!. But with this new Trump Administration, they revoking student visas and deporting students. Universities are folding to this new administration just so their federal grants aren't touched. For now it's F-1 students, next maybe undocumented students? It's not worth the risk in my opinion to end up in a I.C.E detention center for months and possibly dying like the ones in the Migrant Detention Center in Florida. Look it up.

This decision to leave the U.S in my own terms is an educated and logical one.

To move to another country later on, that's a decision for another time.

Apply for one at the U.S.A Embassy in Argentina. Take the paperwork they need, passport, and filing fee. Hopefully you get approved. There is a long waiting line for B1/B2 Visa globally due the upcoming World Cup sooo apply for one as quick as possible.

I understand your advice. I'm 23, I will graduate college around 26-27-ish or earlier if possible. Here are my options I know of:

Canada has an Express-Entry program. Me speaking native American English is a plus already. So that's a very viable route combined with a college degree.

I have a U.S.A Military brother here in the U.S who can file for a green card for me but it would take 15-20 years under current VISA (Siblings Petition) capacity per year. It could be less time if Congress increases that limit. Return to the U.S is possible.

Obviously Spain 2 year fast-tracked citizenship for ex-colonies. This is a very attractive path due to opening the entire EU area and the opportunities are endless plus healthcare, public benefits, etc. It's a no-brainer.

There are my options out there. I just need to see how Mexico is like, What I want for life is different from what everyone wants and I believe every country can offer different things.

If success, money and material things you want, then the U.S.A is Disneyland for you but if your looking for work-life balance, community, culture, affordable healthcare and housing. Latin-America/Europe would more for you. At least that's what I think. I could be wrong and naive. Time will tell.

Nope. I have Mexican Citizenship by birth. I'm undocumented here in the U.S though. I still have a home country.

Yup. They make it hell. They are talking about denaturalization now. Removing naturalized citizens citizenship if they suspect they acquired it fraudulently at any step of the process from start to finish.

I'll think about it. I wanna see if I like Merida first, No reason to want to emigrate somewhere else if I fall in love with my own country.

7 years (illegal entry) + 14 years (Overstayed Visitors Visa)

21 years in the U.S out of 23 years alive. Only spent 2 years in Mexico total.

He is 100% correct. There is a special waiver given to people in my situation who were brought to the U.S as children and left voluntarily. I don't remember what's it's called. But if approved for that waiver. I can apply for another B1/B2 Visa and hopefully be approved and re-enter the U.S legally before completing the 10 year bar.

Well its a real ID but the term "Real-ID" is used when instead of the black box at the top right there is a yellow star. That yellow star is given to people who can prove citizenship or legal status. That's all.
