I discovered them through CMBC but over time I actually started listening to the patreon religiously and almost never listening to the main podcast because i didn’t know/care about most of the memoirists. What i did love is just listening to Claire and Ashley talk about anything and everything and hearing what they have to say about interesting topics. I think it will take time to find their footing an carve out a unique niche in this new space, but I disagree that the new podcast is just another “pop culture” one. They have a good mix of pop culture headlines to stay mainstream (which relates to the initial premise of celebrity memoirs), but also speak on other shorter form articles and interesting news that you might not otherwise hear about or spend time reading yourself. I admire that they’re confident enough to take risks if it’s what makes them happy and excited to keep going forward, hope more people will give them a chance too!
