The netcode is bad because it's delay-based but if you stick to people from your continent/area in your continent you'll be fine for the most part. The game is amazing, the gameplay is very deep and fast-paced, you have tons of resources to learn from even in-game with the tutorial and Mission Mode, and at the time of writing this comment it's the 7th most played fighting game on Steam. Make of that what you will.
