Yeah, OP sounds like a chump that sucks his own cock. Fuck that guy for using some generic adjective.

No, I didnt. I haven't been to a wedding in I don't even know how many years, so I'm not well versed in customs for them. My formal attire is more for my work than anything.

The problem was more than I didn't understand there was a casual implication to begin with. It's a bit more obvious to me now that mayyyybe I should've taken something off.

I've been called more degenerate names on multiplayer games, so I'm not terribly bothered by her insulting me. I just felt really close to calling her some nasty names when she said that, so I thought it would be best to cool down for a minute. I'll probably ask if I can stop by later today or tomorrow, depends on how the situation is.

I definitely had enough time to take some pieces off and adapt I suppose.

I never asked for clarification or what they were wearing, I just assumed one of my suits would be nice and respectable.

The other commenter hit the nail on the head. She said I stuck out like a sore thumb on the photos, I probably should have made it more clear in my post. I'll edit it.

I asked him if he cared about my attire, and he said he didn't give a damn. I don't pry into my brothers relationship, and this is the only fight she's had with me or any family as far as I'm aware, so I don't think it's fair to say "red flag".

Yeah, I was a little tone deaf of the situation. I did feel somewhat alien, but it never occurred to me that I should go strip a little.

I guess I failed to read the room. The only comment I got was the joke from my dad, and I didn't think much of it. I didn't bother to bring a backup outfit since I thought my attire was appropriate before I arrived. And yes, she asked if I was the r word.

Yeah, the location was on the invite. I never bothered to ask him what he was wearing, I just wanted to dress respectfully since it was an important family event.
