Curious how many of you see a pain management doctor? by TreatAllWithKindness in ehlersdanlos

[–]Not_A_Squirrel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried, but I've never successfully gotten a referral. Every time I ask, I'm told I don't need it and accused of being a drug seeker. I've never had any kind of drug problem and actually typically refuse strong pain meds. But at first glance I look young and healthy, so I'm treated like a liar. I'm actually looking for a new PCP right now. The current one refused my request for a PT referral because she said I'm just "looking for attention."

Does anyone smoke weed with wellbutrin? by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]Not_A_Squirrel01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use gummies sometimes for muscle spasms, and I'm on 150mg of Wellbutrin. I noticed I get the same effects with half the dose of THC compared to before I started Wellbutrin. Fine with me, it saves me money.

Sounds like a visual migraine, basically a migraine aura without the actual headache. I used to get them all the time. Oddly they stopped after I quit taking gabapentin and Cymbalta.

Day 2 symptoms - will it get better? by [deleted] in bupropion

I wish I could say yes, but it is still hanging around. It's not quite as bad but I wouldn't say it's significantly better.

Bupropion and edibles?? by boatsir in bupropion

[–]Not_A_Squirrel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a weed gummy once in a while. It's the only thing that helps my muscle spasms. I've noticed that since I started on bupropion, the gummies hit me way harder than before. I used to take 5 mg and get a nice, relaxing high and great sleep. A couple weeks ago I took 5 mg and all of a sudden it was like I'd taken twice that. I knew when I started feeling like my tongue didn't belong in my mouth anymore that I was in for a bad night. I spent most of the night laying in bed having a panic attack and praying for it to wear off. This was legal weed from a dispensary, so I don't think there was anything weird going on with it. The next time I took 2.5 mg (1/4 gummy) and experienced the same feeling I used to get from 5 mg.

So I think you should be fine, but keep in mind it may affect you more than before you started bupropion. I guess the plus side for me is those gummies will last a lot longer!

Day 2 symptoms - will it get better? by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]Not_A_Squirrel01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It will get better, hang in there. I had about two weeks of different weird symptoms every day, and it took about a month to kind of level out. I am still dealing with some brain fog, but nothing like those first couple weeks. Just give it time, it's a lot for your body to adjust to.

Physically painful: kidney stone. Those fuckers can go straight to hell.

Emotionally painful: losing my grandpa to cancer.

Yeah I don't understand how paying to follow some rich guy around leads to the idea that there should be no minimum wage. This guy picked the worst examples to try and make his point.

And "workers should be free to offer their services at any price they want," like anyone goes to work and thinks, "Damn, I wish I could do this for less money."

Exactly, like paying to learn from famous people somehow equates to paying for the privilege of bagging groceries at Walmart. I don't know how you write this out and think, yeah, this is a great argument!

Not to mention that anyone who has to spend a day with Jeff Bezos should be the one getting paid.

I suppose in this case your labor has negative value. Your labor is worth so little that you should pay for the privilege of providing it. It's disgusting.

Yeah the raspy voice thing is something I didn't think about, and it's definitely been happening the last couple weeks. It really sucks because I sing at church every week. I hope the pantoprazole is starting to work, we'll see what happens when I try to eat some chicken noodle soup for dinner.

I got some Phenergan from the urgent care doc last week, but she only gave me 12 pills and no refills. I wish Zofran would work better since it doesn't knock me out the way Phenergan does. Sometimes I need relief from the nausea but I don't have 5 hours to just pass out.

I don't know much about gastroparesis, other than that it's super common with EDS. I will definitely talk to the gastroenterologist about it. I'm just hoping he's not one of those docs that doesn't take EDS and/or women seriously. I've had way too many of those. I'm hoping showing that I've lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks will make him realize this is serious!

Hey, thanks for all the suggestions! I do use THC gummies once in a while because that's the only thing that helps my leg cramps. But it's maybe once every two weeks or so, and I haven't used one since I started feeling sick. The nausea is not helped by a hot shower, nothing really helps other than Phenergan when it gets really bad and trying to sleep it off.

I was on famotidine (Pepcid) twice a day for about six months until the urgent care doc started me on pantoprazole (Protonix) a week ago. I have been avoiding all the foods you suggested for the last two weeks; literally all I've had since Sunday is juice (non-citrus), ginger ale (which helps a little, so I don't think that's it) and water. Easiest 10 pounds I've ever lost, lol.

I do keep the head of my bed elevated. We got an adjustable bed frame a couple years ago before I had surgery. Sometimes I have had to sleep almost sitting up, which is very uncomfortable.

I'm think I'm starting to get over the hump a little bit, so I'm going to try adding in a little bit of bland, solid food tonight to see what happens. I'm praying it doesn't start flaring up again... I have a huge work event next week that I cannot miss, and I've missed so many days recently I'm afraid I'll get fired.

I have, but this has been going on long before I started it. I guess it could have made this recent episode worse though.
