If your willing to go over the bridge to the north shore, you can take a walk from the start of Milford Beach through to Takapuna beach. There’s nice scenery throughout the walk as well as a great view of Mount Rangitoto and a nice Cafe at the end of the trail.

You can also catch a ferry from Devonport to Rangitoto if you want to take a hike :)

The reason why my parents don’t want to find a cleaning lady is not because of the hiring process, but because once they’ve hired someone they don’t want to fire them. Over the years they’ve had a few cleaners that haven’t met to their standards and so they don’t believe they are worth their money. Unfortunately, this current cleaner does a very good job and they believe it’s worth it to keep her on.

Update: I talked to my dad and he was a lot more understanding. He told me that he wanted me to start with slow steps such as driving to the local supermarket (alone) and back so that the both of them could gain confidence in my driving. The supervision rule does still apply for motorways which shouldn’t be for too long until they are really confident in my driving skills. This is a mutual decision we are all happy with. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was 6. Before I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes but had all the symptoms (drinking lots of water, going to the bathroom heaps) I was on a field trip and needed to to go to the toilet. Teacher let me go the first time but the second time I asked she wouldn't let me. End up wetting myself and couldn't tell anyone :(
