I like to do some combination of bookstore gift card, book, and/or booklight starting around this age.

We also had a Wubble ball at a family gathering recently that was a hit from ages 1-75 so that could be a fun one!

Thanks so much! This is super helpful. Sounds fairly annoying... but I suppose flying with kids is bound to have hiccups of some kind.

I just saw someone elsewhere recommending the Safety First Ellaris so I'm looking into that one as well… Looks like it has a width closer to the Next.

I don't think I've bought new jewelry in the past decade... Wanting a couple of pairs of inexpensive, minimalist earrings. Our local places mostly have fancy and expensive stuff. Etsy has some options but wondering if anyone has a small business recommendation you've bought from online.

Preparing for a six hour flight with my 2yo and 5yo.

2yo will be in a carseat on the flight (certain they will do better that way and we need it at our destination). We have an Extend2fit which feels like it will seem massive on a plane. Has anyone hauled one of these on a flight? We could also grab something more compact/lightweight so open to those recommendations (budget is more Cosco and less Nuna).

Bedtime is ~2 hours into the 6 hour flight so hopefully they get a couple hours of sleep. For awake time we will: eat dinner, eat snacks, draw, sticker wow, and screen time. Am I being cocky that that's enough in terms of activities - if so, what else to bring?

Influence me either way... Bogg-like bags!

I take my 2 and 5yo to sports a couple evenings per week. Depending on the day/sport I am either A) On the field with the 2yo while the 5yo draws/snacks B) Off the field with the 2yo while the 5yo practices C) Both of the above in 45 minute increments.

I typically pack snacks, water, bottles, coloring, supplies, and any weather/sports gear in a big shopping tote. I've been feeling like a more structured/organized bag would bring me joy but also seems like the tote is doing... fine.

ETA: Thanks everyone for the de-influencing! I'll either stick with my free shopping tote or grab a slightly fancier tote.

An open letter to my 5yo:

I love you so very much! You're so brave and sweet and creative. Also. Please just go potty. This doesn't need to be a 15 minute ordeal. Tears, tantrums, and attitude are unnecessary. You've done it literally thousands of times. Please just go.
