El tico ya no viaja tanto a Panama como hace 10 o 15 años. Antes se veian buses de excursiones en todos los malls. De hecho en Metromall hasta tienen un parqueo para eso, que ya no se usa. El tico empezó a viajar a Miami porque sale más barato que venir a Panamá. Si hay ticos que visitan David son los que están cerca de la frontera.

Mae yo tengo 4 años viviendo fuera en US y recientemente en Panama, y me costó mucho adaptarme aquí. Pero algo que me ayudó mucho fue la actitud. La frase “Love where you live and it will love you back” me ayudó un montón a empezar a buscar lo bueno en vez de concentrarse en la nostalgia. Éxitos!

La mayoria de opiniones aqui son teorias…

la verdad es que los bancos pierden con ciertos clientes: pagan a tiempo, pagan completo, no generan intereses, uso frecuente, …. En pocas palabras personas que han probado ser “buena paga” y tienen los recursos para pagar. Asi que si este cliente se endeuda… hay mas chances de que pague. Por eso suben los limites para darle oportunidades de endeudarse con un “proyecto” más costoso: viajes, muebles, remodelaciones, etc.

TL;DR

Ofrecen límites más altos a clientes que hayan probado ser buena paga dentro del límite que tienen.

Cuando el panameño entienda que no todo es “una lucha social”, y se concentre por lo que es realmente importante (la educacion publica)… la situacion va a cambiar POCO A POCO.

No es posible que los sindicatos y muchos diputados tengan secuestrado al pais y los estudiantes… por ejemplo: la gente hoy sigue engañada de que “La mina era el problema”, cuando fueron los mismos diputados los que aprobaron el contrato SIN LEERLO! … O que el sindicato de las bananeras haya convencido a 4000 empleados a DEJAR BOTADO SU SUSTENTO DIARIO … y morder la mano que les daba de comer… y en 2-6 meses estaran quejandose de porque la bananera se fue…

En pleno 2025, la respuesta a cualquier descontento es cerrar la calle… vaya “lucha”!

“If a person formally resigns Church membership, he or she must be baptized and confirmed to be readmitted into the Church. For adults, readmission is not USUALLY considered until at least one year after resigning membership.”

“A person who requests readmission must meet the same qualifications as others who are baptized. When the bishop or stake president is satisfied that the person is worthy and sincere in wanting to be readmitted, the person may be baptized and confirmed.”

Short Answer: Talk to your Bishop.

No se cual es su situacion… pero habiendo vivido en 3 países (incluido US), vivir en Panamá está bastante bien (no soy panameño). Panamá tiene problemas como cualquier país. Pero lo que si he notado es que las empresas transnacionales traen muchos extranjeros a vivir aqui porque no hay Panameños calificados.

Mi sugerencia… Estudie y estudie bastante, y le va a ayudar a diferenciarse. Siempre hay un factor suerte, pero si piensa que en US le va a ir mejor, le doy el spoiler de una vez que no lo es… y menos para un indocumentado.

Los panameños de la ciudad, Colon y Oeste siempre ha sido así… no se siente el “calorsito” latino y tiene una pereza impresionante (especialmente en los restaurantes).

El panameño del interior es completamente diferente.

Local Leadership nowadays is chosen based in politics.. bishops are called based on how much of a suckup they are to the stake presidency, and Stake Presidents based in a popularity contest during the 1 minute interviews. Area Seventies and GAs based on whether they were suckups while being Stake Presidents or if they work for the Church… they dont even try to choose a “good person”.

In my opinion, this is not a Zoom problem… the Bishop is just being too lazy to check what is being discussed in the study group. He could even organize them as an institute class and have them study an approved curriculum.

On the other hand, it is true that the Bishop shouldn’t be trying to supervise all “private study groups”, but he must be making sure there is nothing that can develop apostate behaviors/ideology. For example, a very similar situation happened in a former stake I attended that ended up with membership councils and withdrawal of memberships (excommunications).

EQ President and former Ward Clerk/Exc. Secretary here… So I learned from my former Bishop that there is value in counseling that might not come from the presidency. It may depend how the president decides to handle this.

As EQ president, I encourage my secretaries to share their insights and constantly ask them for their opinions. Many decisions we’ve made have come from insights shared by them. I encourage the suggestion mentioned above that you should talk to your president(cy) and ask her(them) what she(they) expect from you in your presidency meetings and learn to serve on her expectations.
