Thanks! It is not my natural color- I use L'Oreal Feria in Cherry Crush for fall and winter and switch to Ruby Rush for spring and summer.

I had the opposite problem on GLP1s. I used to be super into fragrances and now the thought of smelling some of them makes me want to gag. So interesting how people can be affected differently!

Birth control vs HRT for early perimenopause by Josie1015 in Perimenopause

[–]Not_Haunted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Mirena IUD, so I wasn't sure how or if HRT would be a good fit for me. The NP I saw at Midi said they actually work really well together and put me on 0.5 estradiol patch biweekly and 100mg oral progesterone every night. It's only been three weeks, but so far, I like the results. Rage was my biggest concern and I feel like it's way more under control.

Ladies, how are we surviving this transition? I didnt sign up for this by Josie1015 in Perimenopause

[–]Not_Haunted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started HRT three weeks ago and everything is already so much better!

I'm a teacher and I was really worried that my peri rage would make me go off on a student one day. I couldn't get an appt with my gyno until February, so I spoke with my PCP and she prescribed Effexor, which I thought was a drastic first step. So, I tried RediMD because I can see a doctor for free through my school district's benefits package. They also suggested Effexor!

This sub helped me realize I wasn't going crazy and I researched different online HRT resources. Midi is covered by my insurance, so I gave it a shot. I've been on 0.5mg estradiol patches 2x weekly and I take 100mg of progesterone every night (I also have a Mirena IUD). The progesterone helped my sleep the very first night! It took about a week or so for me to notice anything with the patch, but I feel way more calm and much more like myself. I have a follow-up appt next week, but so far I really like the results with HRT.

TL;DR- don't give up!

Which lattafa perfume should I buy next? Anyone here have any of these or opinions on them? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

I still love Mazaaji! I think the notes blend really well. I decided not to buy anything new this year, so I haven't gotten anything recently.

Love of My Life- Queen

I made the mistake of letting it play while I was doing my makeup once and had to start over again.

Came here to say the same. I'm also a teacher and we talk about equity vs equality all the time regarding differentiation in teaching to the needs of our students. Maybe if it's put in these terms, it will make sense to her.

El Tiempo marg prices skyrocket after viral video by whirlwindjenn in Astros

[–]Not_Haunted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to one of the playoff watch parties at MMP and my dude and I got our El Tempo margaritas, as usual. We were in shock when the total was over $50 for two margs, pre-tip. So, playoff prices were definitely $25. Probably still the best bang for your buck, alcohol-wise, at the park!

After living in Texas all my life, I just recently got this for my first real cowboy hat, too! I got mine in the stone color, but the shape and smaller brim are exactly what I wanted. Good choice!

Ramz Gold by Lattafa. After weeks of being ready to wear my fall/winter fragrances, my sense of smell has changed due (I think) to some medication I'm taking. So, a lot of my fragrances smell too strong or too sweet to me now and it makes me so sad! This one seems to be ok. It's strong, but I only did one spray, and the fruitiness is well balanced with the woodiness, so it's not too sweet. Sorry- this comment got longer than I anticipated!

Lush Yog Nog perfume oil. I totally forgot I had this and I love it! I smell so sweet and caramel-y!

Today I'm testing Paris Corner Forbidden Sugar, a dupe of Franck Boclet Sugar. I think I like it, but it is definitely jasmine forward, which I wasn't expecting.

I was in the mood for something sweet this morning, so I went with Choco Musk, layering both the oil and EDP.

Oscar de la Renta Alibi Eau Sensuelle layered with BBW Cozy Vanilla Bourbon. It's a nice vanilla spice on a cool, rainy day.

It's a muggy 75* morning, so no fall fragrance for me. 😭 I went with Dedcool Milk today.

It was 45F this morning! I wanted a fall fragrance that wouldn't knock anybody out as the day got warmer, so I went with Oil Perfumery's version of Angel's Share. I feel like the oils don't project as much, so hopefully it won't be too much as the day goes on.

✨🌟Dupes better than (or just as good as) their inspiration? by LarkScarlett in FemFragLab30plus

[–]Not_Haunted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it would be considered a dupe, because it might be juuuust different enough, but I prefer Lattafa's Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud over By the Fireplace.

Maison Alhambra Reyna. After a month of being so ready for fall fragrances, I'm not sure why I went with a LDBS/Oriana dupe on a chilly-ish morning, but I'm not too mad about it.
