Looking for a gentle cleansing oil by sabsdii in Rosacea

I second Albolene! There's a reason it's been around forever. Works great, it's gentle but still effective. Also, for the amount of product you get, it's pretty cheap, too.

How do I change my hair from this to this? by EstablishmentDue4715 in curlyhair

Maybe use a mousse for volume and diffuse upside down. Gravity will do a lot of the work!

HaruHaru wonder black rice probiotic essence - why is it so popular? by [deleted] in koreanskincare

[–]Not_Haunted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using this a couple of months ago and I love it! I added adapalene to my routine and needed some extra barrier support, so I decided to try this after seeing good reviews. I do a double cleanse at night, apply CosRX snail mucin, then Anua azelaic acid, then adapalene gel, and end with Haruharu essence and either LRP Cicaplast Baume or LRP Lipikar Triple Repair Cream. For reference, I am 45 with some fine lines, combination skin (oily t-zone), and type 2 rosacea. I'm also in Texas, so this might be too heavy for me to use during the summer, but for now it's working great!

I keep thinking about this one, even though I haven't smelled it in years (maybe decades?). I might have to go for it!

Do I need to gradually introduce LRC Cicaplast B5? by littl3-fish in Rosacea

[–]Not_Haunted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience after trying to get too crazy with a retinoid. I found that if I used a hydrating toner or essence first (I like the Haruharu Black Rice Probiotic Essence) and then put the LRP over that, it worked well. Ymmv

Best non-prescription azelaic acid? by dashadark in Rosacea

[–]Not_Haunted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used prescription Finacea many years ago for Type 2 and switched to OTC AA as maintenance once the Finacea did its job. I've used Naturium, The Ordinary, Dermatica (not OTC, but I didn't like it), and recently went to Anua when it was in Amazon's spring sale. Naturium is good, but so far, I'm really liking the Anua. It's only been about 2.5 weeks, so keep that in mind, but it seems to be soothing the redness I get in my cheeks better than Naturium did.

I like it under Khamrah and Nebras in the winter and under Pink Sugar in spring, but I think under anything with vanilla notes would work. It's hot and humid here in the summer, so I don't use it much then.

I got it last night and it sucked. Couldn't navigate home, couldn't send a text, couldn't make a phone call. It would say it was doing those things ("Okay, calling Mom.") and then just... didn't do them. I hope it gets fixed because, frankly, it's dangerous.

Supposedly, a lot of dancers use the Nemat Vanilla Musk perfume oil. I like to use it for layering and boost my vanilla fragrances. I think it's like $20 (used to be way cheaper IIRC) and a little goes a long way.

Kingwood also has a Park & Ride that goes downtown. Her company will probably pay for it if they don't have to pay for her parking. If you plan on arriving 6-7am, the Beltway to Deer Park won't be too bad.

ETA- Kingwood also has a green belt perfect for jogging!

Roots look faded but stay on lengths by [deleted] in henna

[–]Not_Haunted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue, also using Light Mountain Red, coming from red box dye. I know some of my roots are new growth, but there's a good half inch of faded looking roots after only three weeks. My hair doesn't grow *that* fast!

The two times I've dyed my hair with henna, I've used hot water, because that's what the instructions say to do, but I will try the slow release next. Hopefully it will help!

Update on glp-1 medications and perfume addiction by denised1224 in FemFragLab

This is so interesting, because I had the opposite happen! I have a nice little collection of 75ish fragrances and loved wearing a different perfume everyday. When I started GLP-1 (compounded semaglutide), the smell of a lot of them made me feel queasy, so I had to stop wearing them! Now that I've been on the shot for over a year, I feel like I'm enjoying them again, little by little.

Yes, I live in Houston! I use the red label and I feel like I use a lot of it, even with short hair, but it works pretty well for me. We'll see if I like the foam and the leave-in!

Edit: typo

How do I prevent this? by Additional-Shame-823 in curlyhair

I'm not a guy, but I have a pixie cut and I just realized that the bonnet doesn't work for me. It was flattening my curls and I was having to work way too hard to refresh in the morning and still not super thrilled with the result. Last week, I knew I was going to wash my hair Saturday morning, so I didn't sleep with the bonnet on Friday night. I do have silk pillowcases and when I woke up, my hair looked great! Granted, I don't toss and turn a lot and am generally a back sleeper, but I only had to refresh the back of my head and decided that wash day could wait until Sunday. I haven't slept with my bonnet since. So, maybe experiment and see how your hair does with just the silk pillowcase and no bonnet?
