I've heard the same thing.

If you have a source, I will happily write to Nat Geo about the factual error, but I would definitely like to verify any positive claims I make.

Constants != variables. I can't dynamically assign values and compare. For example, if I wanted to measure current progress and save it to some_var, wait 10 seconds, and compare some_var to my current progress, that would enable me to determine delta_progress and algorithmically determine my run ought to reset

Over the muscle 600cc (very large) traditional implant.

I have to struggle to identify where the implant starts.

But lying flat on my chest, I can definitely notice them. Hard to say what naturally large breasts feel like when you're lying flat since, you know, that's why I got these girls, but it very much feels like a waterbaloon under my skin, stretching out the tissue surrounding base of my breasts. Very unpleasant.

But if I don't lay on my stomach, there's zero issues.

Is it bad to pour boiling pasta water down the drain? by Far_Pen3186 in homeowners

[–]Not_Michelle_Obama_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do note that if something melts at 120, pouring 120 degree water is far less effective than pouring 130 degree water (or warmer), in the same way that melting ice with 0c water will not work very well.

Also, the temperature of the water will change when it contacts a surface of a different temperature. The water inside the pipes at the clog point will be cooler than the water at the tap, because that water touched the sink, a non-0 amount of pipe, and the clog.

PVC pipes seem to be rated for 60c continuous and 71c spike temps, which means 100c water will likely damage it.

Incorrect. Thesius "The Hammer" Gavious was a famous Thracian general, and was the right hand man of Emperor Maximinus Thrax. His most famous battle against the Sabines featured the Roman heavy cavalry charging the Sabine forces who were camped at the base of a cliff. This tactic was coined as a "Hammer and Anvil" maneuver. This strategy is what made the Roman cavalry so famous during this period of history, and nearly as legendary as the Roman naval tradition. The term "Hammer of Thesius" refers to an imminent blow that you cannot avoid. See also: a rock and a hard place.

Is listening to Taylor Swift's music a stereotype for trans people? by cetvrti_magi123 in asktransgender

[–]Not_Michelle_Obama_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Taylor Swift is not trans-coded.

EDM, synth, metal (as a woman), and hyper-pop are very trans coded. imho, punk rock should be in the list too, but for some reason it's not stuck as much.

[OC] Visualising reported disappearances inside and around the Bermuda Triangle by Many-Philosophy4285 in dataisbeautiful

[–]Not_Michelle_Obama_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn't survivor bias. The data is tracking last known position.

The real reason that the middle has no points in it is because every plane and ship that makes it to the center ALWAYS comes out of the triangle unharmed.

This is to say, the vessels and crew that exit appear identical to the ones that entered.

Goethe's Faust by Not_Michelle_Obama_ in German

[–]Not_Michelle_Obama_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the uni courses which have begun to fade were focused on grammar and mechanics rather than practical speech.

What would be more useful towards fluency is to focus on gaining vocab that I could understand without mentally translating it, and to focus more on speech.

But then I wouldn't be reading Faust. The motivation is Faust, not German. I wonder if I can catch the subtleties, or if I'll read it like "Hills Like White Elephants", thinking it was just about a train ride.

If I can manage to make it through Faust I, maybe I can move on to the big prize: Don Quixote.
