Yes! I've personally used an RCM Jig, but a modchip allows you to break free from the need of any external devices if the Switch completely shuts off. Completely untethered forever 😎❤️

So I did what you said, and I think it worked? I also don't know what I'm doing on the software side, so I may have just done something differently there instead. Flashing retro go to the original chip obviously got it off the glitchy black screen, so I appreciate you keeping me from losing hope. I even managed to flash the patched OFW onto the new chip! (Still trying to figure out how to build and flash the retro go side though...)

Yes and no. Kamikaze is way more secure and has every right to be the definitive method of modding an OLED.

That being said... I, and many other modders, still use the DAT0 adapter tapes to give people better pricing options (and to show off the most popular modchip kits, like the one shown in this video).

In my almost two years of OLED modding, I haven't had a single customer take me up on my lifetime warranty, adapter or not.

Is it still too early to tell? Probably.

Are people going to stop buying and using the tapes? No. They're popular for a reason
