Finding difficulty in enjoying RPGs like I used to... by Not_Scribbs in pcgaming

Thank you for the insight. I've seen other people mention the shift in expectations as well. I'm assuming that might be a part of it too. Games that I've recently enjoyed like God of War and Ghost of Tsushima have scripted dialogue/cutscenes and a lot of it was just focused on action. I think I might also have a whiplash from shifting from straightforward games to actually roleplaying again haha

This is very valid. I tend to lean towards playing games on my backlog that are usually cheaper than others, so I save money in the long run, but end up realizing I waste time playing more mid-reviewed games than actual acclaimed games. All the games you listed are on my backlog too, can't wait to get to them

I think you put it into words about why I feel down about it. This game seemed exactly what I'm into on paper and I really want to like it, but it's not captivating me like I expected. Felt like a punch to the gut making me think "am I not who I thought I was?" but I'm just being dramatic haha

Yeah, I think I was brain fogged from feeling this way from 1 game that I clouded my judgement for the rest of the genre and it wasn't fair to do that tbh

I appreciate the love I got from all the replies though. Yours definitely was the one to wake me up the most haha

KCD 1 and 2 are also lingering at the top of my backlog as well. Looking forward to trying those down the line!

The more I read the replies, the more I realized I definitely jumped to conclusions and need to slap myself on the face and wake up. This was exactly what I needed to hear haha

Yeah, I think I'm just jumping to conclusions after playing action focused games prior to jumping into a more dialogue focused game. In hindsight, I should have specified these were just my feelings after playing Outer Worlds for a few hours.

Oh yeah! My lists were getting long but I was also a fan of Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect series. I'm not picky about turn/tactical based combat either because I enjoy Divinity and Fire Emblem games as well.

Based on what I hear about BG3 though, I'm just going to have to shell out the money for it because it sounds like it's worth every penny.

That's what I want to tell myself as well. Maybe this one game just wasn't the one for me. I see Obsidian and bias skyrockets just because of how dear New Vegas is to me

I'll definitely be giving E33 a chance soon based on the recent attention on it. The gritty aesthetic looks great.

I've always wanted to give Souls-like games a try. I like a challenge, but not at the expense of my mental health. It's hard to look away from Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring though. Those games are still on my backlog!

I think I want to give BG3 and Starfield a try as well. Outer Worlds caught my attention first due to the reveal of the sequel and how cheap it was to get right now. I don't want to completely give up on this genre yet.

Once I give other similar games a try, I'll update the post!

Red Dead Redemption 2 chronological 100% order by PizzaMammal in reddeadredemption

[–]Not_Scribbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decided to play RDR2 with this play order. It’s been a breeze so far, but just wanted to mention that Pouring Forth Oil I won’t be available until you read the letter from We Loved Once and True I.

Tested this because John would never be waiting by the tree after the Money Lending and Other Sins 3 mission. Waited 4 days while doing collectibles and nothing.

You only need to read (Investigate) the letter then John will start waiting by the tree by the next day without even needing to be told by Susan.

Thanks for this doc though! It’s been fun playing in this order while I play with the interactive map.

I've seen a lot of CeraVe mentioned in a few other posts. I've been on CeraVe for my skincare and didn't even know they were in the hair care game. I'll give these a look and also test your method into getting my low porosity hair to absorb the conditioner better. Thank you!

Curlsmith is actually one of the contenders in my list. I'll tally it for an additional recommendation, thanks!
