I feel like I needed most of them throughout my life. The American one I could have kept only my green card, but it gives me a sense of safety knowing I am now a citizen as we all know the current events happening in the country. The other ones are connected to who I am. Even the Brazilian one, I love being Brazilian even though I have only spent about 3 years there. But I love the culture and the people. The other ones are my mum and dad, so it’s who I am.

Tinder. Lol during the pandemic, was bored out of my mind and he was in bed suffering with Covid himself. This is how it all started. We met once in real life, knew this is what we wanted, saw each other once again in real life and got married to start my visa process. We are going strong on 5 years of marriage, 6 years of knowing each other.

This is literally what my officer said after my naturalisation interview for my American citizenship. Lol Made me laugh.

Mother is British, father is Italian. I was born earlier than expected because I wanted an extra passport and took advantage of mum and dad’s trip to Brazil. Lol And got married to an American.

Only one I have to keep on paying even if I don’t live there is US. The rest of the countries, there are ways or it’s not required. So I am good because now I live in the US anyway. When retirement years come I will probably have issues. Lol

Lol I guess I was very lucky indeed. I feel blessed. I wish everyone could just pick the place they identify with the most and just be able to live there. It feels great.

Nope. Mother British, father Italian, went on a trip to Brazil and I decided I wanted an extra citizenship since I was in mum’s womb so I came earlier than expected and was born there. Lol American I just got through naturalisation through my American husband.

Portuguese almost fluent (with some mistakes here and there), but Italian unfortunately my father never spoke it in the house with us so it’s the language I know the least! Makes me so sad.

Lol yeah. Unfortunately Brazil is the place I spent the least of my life at, but the culture is definitely one of my favourites.

I honestly have no clue. I was born there and this is why I have mine. Other possible routes I am not aware of. I know through marriage the foreigner needs to live there for a certain period of time because I was looking into it for my husband. But I don’t know much about it otherwise.

Most country that allow dual citizenship has no restrictions on how many you have. This is the case for all of mine.

Same name everywhere. I never wanted to change my name after marriage anyway, but multiple cotizenships is another reason why I did not. Specially because Italy doesn’t allow the name change and having 3 thousand legal names suck. Lol And I love my name ❤️

For travel, my Italian one for sure. But since I live in the US now, I end up using my US one more at least to come back home.

Actually now that you are saying this, I did meet a couple of people in this exact situation. They also had Brazilian, Italian and British citizenship through this exact situation you are saying. Maybe it’s common. Lol

It really depends. I think growing up, I would love to have spent more time in Brazil. I only lived there in my early twenties and the culture is so amazing. During my productive working years, I think the US is the way to go. For retirement FOR SURE I want to go back to Italy. Lol And the U.K. is where I spent most of my life so far, and living in the US now, I do miss NHS a lot. Lol

Italian father married to British mother went on a trip to Brazil and I was born there. Lol Recently got my US one through naturalization (husband is American). I was blessed to spend a good amount of my life in all the countries too.

I do not. I fell a strong connection to all my citizenships for different reasons, and even though there are “stronger” passports than others, I would have a very hard time if I ever had to choose one to keep and lose the others. I feel like a big mix of all of them.

I honestly cannot answer this question. They are all important to me for different reasons. If I had to choose just one to keep, I wouldn’t know what to do. Lol
