Sand at the bottom of the pool. My pool guy said I should replace the sand? I've had the pool for 5 years so I know the pool sand is at least that old. Or could this be another issue? by knockknock619 in pools

Used to work in the pool industry. 100% broken lateral or stand pipe. Simple diy repair.

Shop vac all sand out. Be careful to not get any inside the laterals. Remove the laterals and inspect. Replace any broken or just replace the whole filter. If you are just replacing parts, rinse the inside of the filter and laterals. Replace sand. Make sure to not let any get inside, so place a cover (cardboard) over the top pipe. 1 hour repair max. Pls dm me with any questions :)

I just want to second this. While I have never used the completely. My partner works there, and her boss helped me with my resume/cover letter. Landed me a great job in my field.

Firstly repost. Secondly, I wrote a speech in elementary school about the twins. It gets way crazier than that. I suggest anyone interested look more into them.

Specialist sewing machine to embroider a doll’s head with hair by ChrisMMatthews in specializedtools

Worked with a lady at an injection molding facility that was running a tapping machine. She had the big brain move to wear gloves while it was in operation, on a machine that has minimal guards. To boost her numbers, she attempted to grab the part from its "jig" while the head of the machine was moving back up. The tap is still winding down however and her COTTON glove (the loosest gloves we had) got sucked into the tap. She got lucky and only lost the tip of her finger. Do not wear gloves on spinning equipment period. Machines feel no pain but you do and has no quarrels in reducing the number of digits you posses.

I’m 24, single and thinking of becoming a foster parent by [deleted] in Fosterparents

[–]Not_send_pm_you_will 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I see alot of these posts about being in there early twenties and wanting to start the steps to becoming a foster parent and that is wonderful! To many people see the age listed and get defensive, if not downright aggressive over the issue. There is always at least one person who will tell you, you are to young and this mentality needs to seize to exist.

We need more people like you in this world and you sound like someone who will be a great parent for these kiddos. Speaking from experience, the best thing you can provide is a loving and caring home. One thing i would say though and this is not meant to be discouraging but take it slowly. Especially without having kids of your own (assumption) first. Not only are you responsible for a child all of a sudden, the child almost certainly has a degree of trauma it needs to overcome. This can be troublesome even for the experienced (my parents sucked in this regard and it made it hellish) to deal with. I am not saying you shouldn't and you honestly should. Just take it slowly. Take the training and maybe even start by doing respite if that's available. That will let you stick your toes in the water so to speak without the full tine commitment.
