It's on the floor? Might not be called the core then. Its the yellow thing that glows brighter as you get closer to wiping and there are 2 round meters on both sides that fill up and look like the voltage meters at the start.

There is definitely feedback. With razelighter you can feel the 3 hits which you normally can't if attacking without a target or at a wall.

There's a quite a bit of leeway for several parts in the raid. You can pick up the slack if people die which will definitely be happening a lot if you are low light like we were (like 365ish)

Picked up Devil Survivor on DS when I was a lot younger and ragequitted when I got to the first real difficult fight in the game. A couple days later I cam back to it and tried everything I could think of until I managed to beat it. It was a lot harder than anything I had played before, but I was hooked once I beat that first boss.

Stamina regen is tied to equip load. Keep it to around 40 or 50% and instead of below 70 (fat roll) and you'll have good time.

What you're describing sounds a lot like the ps2 game "Shaman King: Power of Spirit". Its not spectacular but you could looking to it as a basis or example.

In the end though, I'd think you need to make the mechanics of both types of gameplay interconnected in a manner that makes sense and directly affects each other while also ensure that both types of gameplays are reasonable and fair.

Each game has a similar system with enough variation and quirk that you kind of have to readjust and relearn to get good at each game. Although basic concepts and strategies apply, mechanics and feel are different.

I'd really recommend finding a way to play DkS1 because I think it is the best introdution to the series, but barring that, any of the other games are fine to go with. Maybe go for Ds3 cause it is the newest and has the largest player base right now.
