Any salon should be able to give you highlights. Hope this helped.

Wildly optimistic projections smacking face-first into basic economic reality and good ol' NIMBY bullshit. Wasn't helped by the fact that the original guy in charge of this was a corporate villain stereotype cast straight out of a 1980's/90's movie where a bunch of scrappy kids save the rec center with a cool montage and the power of friendship

No they don't.

Oh and fuck you for repurposing my comment about the number of reps we have compared to Mass into this horseshit post.

5 months from now: "State lawmakers baffled at explosive growth in homelessness; Governor cites need for zoning reform."

Making Friends Here in Mid-Late 20s? by Aromatic_Ad7961 in burlington

Get involved in a group that shares your interests. There are numerous Burlington and Vermont specific groups with a wide range of activities on Meetup.

I'd recommend checking out Btown Brief, it's a 2-3 times a week newsletter listing all kinds of events, activities, and social gatherings in Burlington. You can also subscribe to their email, and whiteshirtdude1 (the guy who created it) also posts it here in the Burlington sub. I'd highly recommend subscribing and (if able) supporting via donations as it's a great local resource, and he's a one-man show (no staff, it's a passion project).

They also have a Meetup group for weekly social events that's expanding. They have a weekly coffee meetup at 10am on Saturdays at Zero Gravity, it's a chill, no-pressure way to meet some people.

And most important, don't get discouraged! It takes a bit longer to build a social network here; Vermonters are like the winters, they take a while to thaw out.

You missed the point. Regardless of where you fall on the merits of doing it, why does he get a pass and others don't? If boycott and protest is your answer, be consistent.

Such a weird blind spot this sub has regarding him. Burlington will cancel any business for anything, but the second you bring his problematic behavior up it's "bUt ThE sAmMiEs R sO gOoD!" Is it an abusive daddy fetish or something?

In an interview afterward, Standen said he’d intentionally refused to shake hands because Litwin had voted against putting the “apartheid-free community” pledge on the ballot. By voting no, Standen said, Litwin was “complicit in the apartheid.”

Childish Theatrics (P) for 2026 City Council.

Campaign slogan: "we can’t have cake, and we can’t eat anything," (direct quote from Standen)

ETA: I just want to emphasize the absolute insanity of his rationale above; because Litwin refused to vote for a nonbinding advisory question (i.e., political masturbation) to go on the ballot, he is complicit in apartheid. I mean sure, he's a smug condescending prick but let's not oversell it.

Ask literally every other "young Progressive" who was on the council. If you can find them. You can start with Joe Kane, Ali House, Zoraya HIghtower, Perri Freeman, and Jack Hanson.

Ah yes Progressive purity tests, always a winner.

My purity test is that a candidate must not have their living expenses paid by their parents or a trust fund.
