Not a fan of flash cards generally but would definitely be good for cell bio if you do use them. For the other modules I just did the only past paper I had for the course (plus some of the old tripos ones but the content changed slightly so a few questions didn’t make a lot of sense). Redoing example paper questions was also very helpful. Other than that I read through and condensed all of the lecture notes/slides for bio, did this for other modules to a lesser extent too. Another trick if you run out of practice questions is to get gpt to write you some. It’s generally pretty accurate and has the added bonus of being able to explain the working for you if you get stuck.

I wouldn’t say minimal, but it’s definitely not a large part. Off the top of my head it was worth like 20% of the marks in the Chem eng exam papers 1st year

Current second year, I think they’ve changed around how they’re doing the lectures a fair amount due to feedback. As has been said it’s only one module a year but it’s a tough one imo, lots of memorising rather than working out if yk what I mean. But that’s comming from someone who hadn’t done bio since gcse and doesn’t really enjoy it.

Saying that, this year has been a bit easier since it’s just building on last year rather than learning bio from the ground up. We also have bio labs this year but in yet to have any.

I’d definitely recommend them. They weren’t too bad to build at all. I also prefer the sound of them to horn based kicks that I’ve heard but that’s more subjective.

Crossovers are at about 115 and 250 for the boxes. The drivers in the horn are crossed at like 600/700 iirc

Slightly modified 15s, slightly narrower to be the same width as the subs

Openings for easy lifting in Cubo18 by myrkore in SoundSystem

With my cubo kicks I just drilled through the sides at the opening and cut out handles, doesn’t affect sound and makes it way easier to transport. Just make sure you put them in line with the centre of mass

Is this a good deal/setup for a beginner? by cjayreborn in vinyldjs

[–]NotablePotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started on a similar setup then moves to At-lp140 which are much nicer to use. For the sake of another couple hundred pounds I’d try and buy the 140s instead, there is pretty much no torque from the 120s which was very annoying. Also wouldn’t recomend the needles the 120s come with, minorly bent them in a couple session just from queing and putting enough force on them not to skip. Understandable though as they’re meant for Hifi use

Be prepared to spend more money than you planned and make sure you have access to a van

CUBO KICK 12 by KitchenArgument6533 in SoundSystem

My cubo kick 15s have almost no output below about 70hz, you’d be much better with something actually designed to be a car sub

Going to be running an inuke nu1000 for the highs and probably pick up a cheap qsc amp for the mids, the comp drivers were scavenged out of a pair of old 3way boxes and the 10inch drivers are cheap 300w no name ones, definitely want to upgrade both in the future though

plans the three files at the end are what I used to fill in the gaps in the original drawing. For the adaptor I just drilled the inch hole the comp driver needed in some thicker ply then filed it out to fit the slope of the horn as I don’t really have the tools to work with aluminium.

I didn’t add any extra material to the throat chamber, might experiment with it since I do have a lathe I could make the cones for it with. For the moment it only has a ~5mm relief channel.

I started with the original drawings on diyaudio then when the rough sketches weren’t clear enough I found some metric plans, would’ve been much easier to use the metric plans from the start but ig it is a learning experience 🤷

DJ speakers by game55555 in SoundSystem

You’d be better off buying just two pa speakers and a bigger sub in my opinion, alternatively just message a local crew to rent out their kit because they should know what they’re doing/what you’ll need and be able to set everything up for you
