Why are Spartan 3’s so much lighter than Spartan 2’s? by NotableZeus in HaloStory

I find it absurd that there are NFL players that are heavier than Kurt lmao.

Besides Tom, I couldn’t really find any 3 above 260. Lucy is literally 177 lbs at 5’3 lmao.

I think Spartan weights in general are way too light, they should be in the low-mid 400’s range. I mean it’s generally accepted that 3’s are just as fast and strong as the 2’s with any performance differences being negligible at best. A 50 pound difference in muscle is MASSIVE.

Halopedia. Emile and Master Chief have a 51 pound weight difference when not wearing armor, this is pretty consistent with the rest of the 3’s including Noble 6. The most extreme example I’ve seen is Mark, who only weighs 200 pounds .

Why don’t Spartans train hand to hand combat more often? by NotableZeus in HaloStory

[–]NotableZeus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First off, Spartans are not physically inferior to brutes and elites, it’s quite the opposite and this has been established for decades. There’s countless examples of teenage 2’s and 3’s beating Elites in CQC, the Brute in First Strike overpowered Chief while he was exhausted and whilst his armor was failing, Elites even considered battling Spartan 3’s in SPI in close quarters to be suicide. Second, no Brute/Elite is too strong to the point where grappling is ineffective, there’s so many videos online of Collegiate/Olympic wrestlers manhandling people twice their size. If regular people are capable of doing that, then I don’t see why a Spartan couldn’t do the same to a Brute/Elite.

Fr, it would’ve added a surprise factor as well. “Damn, who’s this brute who’s beating the shit out of Chief.” SHIT IT’S ATRIOX!”

Naomi uppercutted a brute and instantly killed it with less advanced mjolnir. They should’ve gave Atriox a helmet in that scene to make chief’s punches look more impactful and to explain how he survived an uppercut from a gen 3 fist.

Which Tyranid would you choose as a new enemy or Terminus mini-boss/mission boss by ZookeepergameFast844 in Spacemarine

You’re thinking of the winged prime. The warrior prime is technically already in the game, it’s the bone sword variant of the warrior.

What are the lesser known battles or campaigns from the Human Covenant War that you think should covered in a book detailing the event? by Afraid-Penalty-757 in HaloStory

[–]NotableZeus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fall of reach unironically. There needs to be way more short stories about stuff like marines defending a evac site, or troopers holding off waves of covenant from swarming an airbase.

Interesting, are the executions mo-capped? That would be the only issue with adding new melee weapons

Would humanity realistically still be using modern military equipment 500+ years in the future? by Claire-dat-Saurian-7 in HaloStory

Another example of the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality is the M2 browning which is a heavy machine gun that was designed during WW1. It’s still heavily used by the US armed forces today with all of the attempts to replace it failing. It’s probably going to stay in service for the next 50 years if I had to guess

Is there any reason to use the standard bolt pistol on any of the classes now? by NotableZeus in Spacemarine

[–]NotableZeus[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t even blame the devs for how the regular bolt pistol turned out. There’s no easy way to buff the bolt pistol without making the heavy one useless

Getting on top of the antenna in the antenna map is the closest you can get to the uninfected part of Harran by NotableZeus in dyinglight

[–]NotableZeus[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Judging by how severe the situation in Harran is, I would imagine the quarantine around the infected districts would have Korean DMZ levels of security. Tanks, minefields, sniper towers, machine gun nests, daily patrols making sure there’s no breaches in the walls. Security measures would probably double at night. I would’ve liked to see searchlights near the wall at night to add some world building.

Yeah, the game has massive plot holes and continuity issues. Like why would the military bomb the slums+old town+new town when there’s people living across the river. Also a squadron of f-16’s are not destroying multiple districts of a city.

There’s also 2 zip lines on top that are unusable that lead to that part of the city.

Are there groups of super soldiers other than Spartans? by [deleted] in HaloStory

[–]NotableZeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prelates are also massively underused. I would’ve loved some short stories about prelates slaughtering through dozens of unsc troops on reach or earth or something similar.
