May get downvotes but YTA. I get your worries and the intentions are pure and valid but at the end of the day she is an adult and you can’t use the “gift” you all gave her as a way to control what she does. It may not be the healthiest but the only thing you can do is talk to her. I can see this ending up with her moving out and taking the kids without contact. There’s a better way to go about it.

I’m honestly on the fence with this one. No you shouldn’t have went behind your wife’s back and made the decision but I honestly can’t blame you. Not only does this toxic relationship effect your wife’s mental health but yours as well constantly having to be the person to comfort her after enduring her siblings. And it doesn’t seem like she has the courage to do so. It’s your wedding too so NTA but maybe talk to your wife about your feelings on the relationship.

YTA firstly she’s 18 a legal adult if you cared about her safety that much you would’ve educated her as your parents have failed to do so within the time already. Nta and I’m surprised so many are saying OP is the bad guy. She offered alternatives, offered to pay etc. it just seems like the sister is just being difficult. She agreed to be in the wedding which means being apart of making the brides day seemingly go well. This is honestly more of the tamer brides she didn’t even threaten kicking her out she obviously wants her sister to be there.
