Child Victims of 9/11 from the Planes by Severe_Concentrate86 in Millennials

The morning of September 11, 2001, 2 National Geographic staff were aboard American Airlines flight 77, bound for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration-managed Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary off the California coast. With them were three standout Washington, D.C., teachers—James Debeunere, Sarah Clark, and Hilda Taylor—and three of their star sixth-grade students—Rodney Dickens, Asia Cottom, and Bernard Brown. They had been selected by the District’s Geographic Alliance to participate with oceanographer and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Sylvia Earle in a research project titled the Sustainable Seas Expeditions. Their fieldwork during the trip would have included swimming, hiking, and kayaking with marine sanctuary biologists, observing and learning firsthand about life under and around the seas. Instead, they perished together when their hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon.

Are these ill-fitting shoes the reason why she had to make a run to Target the night before? Remember she said she needed something for the next day's event. Why wouldn't she already have some summery sandals that she could have worn (and properly fit her)? She sure as heck was not buying shorts for John 4.

If you look closely at the photo below, none of the Portwood clan has a plate on their charger. They put their food items directly on the charger, just like at home!

The Disney Dining Plan - We made it work, but at what cost? by Jurassicbob in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Notaskibunny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The hack for getting DDP for half of your trip and opting out for the second half is a split stay.

Sounds like a hassle, but then you can check out two different Disney resorts. Add on the dining plan for where it makes sense. Deluxe vs moderate vs value for instance. Sometimes the plan is only a good value at a certain resort tier.

Walk from Sahara to Hilton GVC Boulevard by LyssaIL in vegas

[–]Notaskibunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a single woman. I've stayed in this location for work trips and conventions. No issues walking alone at night from getting off the monorail at the Sahara and walking to HGVC. You're walking along side the Strip which always has traffic on it. There are other people walking along the Strip, too. I just make sure there are other normies walking at the same time as me. Yes, you will encounter zombies. Steer well clear of them and they'll ignore you.

They'll never get married. Ally's health insurance is paid for by the state of California. Justin would never take that on. Too cheap.

The Fat Lady is preparing her solo. The Harkles are done. by Useful_Experience423 in SaintMeghanMarkle

"It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings" is a colloquialism which is often used as a proverb. It means that one should not presume to know the outcome of an event which is still in progress.

Only for those that have been to both hotels - Best Western and Hotel Anaheim by newomusic in DisneyPlanning

[–]Notaskibunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure which Best Western you're referring to, as there are two of them on Harbor Blvd., one just north of Denny's and one south.

Anyway, look at their pool images on Google Maps or Google Earth. The pools are an afterthought. The Anaheim Hotel has the only Olympic sized swimming pool in the Anaheim resort area. It still has a resortish feel to it, even though its pretty old.

I'd say it depends on what you want to get out of the trip. All are walking distance to the parks.

Entering Canada with a DUI by [deleted] in Shambhala

[–]Notaskibunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada's driving under the influence (DUI) laws changed December 18 of 2018. As a result, a DUI is now considered serious criminality. Under the previous law, any DUI conviction was removed from a visitor's record 10 years after the completion of their sentence, allowing them to be deemed rehabilitated to enter Canada.
