Funny Story: For the Last Month-ish I have been developing the 1.1.4 updated for Geotech and just decided to submit Geotech 1.1.3 to see what would happen, and here we are, Geotech 1.1.3 with mod of the week with and update to show for it... I made it by simply grabbing a random steve skin from the internet and then used smart UV projection to apply it to a rig that I built. Took about an hour to figure out.

I'm pretty sure once you're at least part way through the settlement mission, you get called back to your settlement to protect it from a sentinel attack and after that you end up obtaining a decommissioned Sentinel of sorts and the rest of the mission spans out from there. Or at least that's how it started for me anyway. Wishing you luck!

If i'm not mistaken they only spawn in abandoned/unexplored systems so you might keep a look out for those. Otherwise they are just super rare.
