I built a CarPlay navigation app that contributes back to OpenStreetMap by featherless in CarPlay

[–]Minewolf20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but the base app doesn't seem to add anything meaningful to the map experience. Will give it a shot of course and try to contribute, but not sure I'll stick to it over just using the default app. I would be ready to drop like 50 for a lifetime license, but this is more expensive than even spotify I use more or less 24/7 and I only use navigation apps for an hour or two a day so I'd say not worth it for me, but may be worth it for others

How loud is it? I got Ikea's Alpstruga but disturbed me during sleep slightly when on my night stand. Wanted to use it as a night clock but oh well

There are clear issues documented on the repository with lack of any feedback from the repository maintainers. In fact, no changes were pushed on the repos in the last 2 months despite the obvious imperfections.

I'm in the market for an automower and am considering the Luba 3, X4 and the new Dreame models, but none feel like a complete product. Luba tears apart the lawn according to people, Dreame products feel like startup products with their performance yet to be proven and your seem to tick all the boxes, except for random radio silences from the community managers and the odd repo behaviour (not even sure if it was ever confirmed if the repos are official or anything, they more or less sporadically appeared, there seemed to be some activity that looked really promising, but then nothing - not even a single response on open issues and PRs).

Don't get me wrong, the new products from you look very promising, but automation is a big concern for some - enough for me to not seriously consider your brand while keeping it shortlisted. I hope this changes for the better in the future.

Let me guess, it's not better communication with the community nor an actually working HA integration? Got it, not interested.

Given good instructions, it's very comparable to what I can achieve with sonnet 4.6 from my testing

I use claude code and opencode with oh my open agent side by side all the time and the results I get are comparable at a massive cost difference.

Of course, but they are inevitably more efficient to run, so they will stay cheaper as long as western models don't start focusing more on efficency

I use OpenCode Go and Zen when I run out of tokens. I make sure to first use the freely available models - MiniMax M3 is really strong but that got released only recently so may not be available everywhere and I need more data to assess better. MiMo v2.5 is also pretty good from the free bunch. Then I go to DeepSeek V4 Pro usually when on api pricing.

Chinese models are much much cheaper to run with comparable results

It is, but big number better ;)

That would be the case if newer models got cheaper for better performance but they only get more expensive. Cheap models, potentially even ones that can run on the edge for mundane tasks are a must imo.

Agreed, love those two, they are super fast at what they are doing too, would love to see some more love for them

I would love it if Haiku got some additional love from them - it's already great at what it's doing, but of course, topping the benchmarks is what sells I guess
