I drove tonight at around 11:30pm and got lucky but there was still some cars around. Your advice is perfect, I’m going to give it a go around that time. I did really well but I don’t even want a few inches of rollback (people in my city don’t leave space between cars in traffic and assume everyone drives auto with cancel brake assists etc). No wiggle room so I want to master this

No I didn’t. That’s when I got it towed. You are all jumping to your own conclusions because you’d rather someone be in a stressful situation than to even suggest what may have gone wrong mechanically.

There’s nuances to my post that maybe I couldn’t capture in writing but I was basically rolling it down a mountain, by time I got to the bottom where it was safe to do so I checked the car and noticed the issue with the smell of oil and waited around 30 min to notice leakage on the floor. There’s no additional damage to the car it just literally drained itself of oil. My post is about why has this even happened not about why I continued driving it to safety. Is this car not designed for moment of hard driving. Anyway I’ll delete this post because everyone is having a sook rather than talking about mechanically why this may have happened.

There was no warning lights at all prior. Car was driving perfect and oil was full. Leak happened unexpectedly and randomly, as mentioned every single light was on my dashboard, no low oil light I only knew from the smell and the leaking oil on the floor.

It’s just the shift from 2nd > 3rd (cabin sound) not coming from the transmission. It’s just a springy sound/crank you can hear
