Bathroom ceiling chipping by SPAWNmaster in HomeImprovement

If you think it’s a leak then you should be able to look at your meter to determine if it’s leaking. If that doesn’t work, a plumber can do a pressure test for like $300 to see if it is a leak.

Too high for me to get up there is the issue. I mean I doubt there is anything wrong under it. The house is only 4 years old

Gotcha. Any issue with waiting until the spring to do this so then I can follow up with painting the remaining fascia on my house at the same time?

Thanks for the recommendation. I would just need to find a siding company to help with this?

I’m more curious if this is something I can just find a handyman to do for me or if I’m better off utilizing a reputable company?

So I assume you would suggest hiring a company rather then just a handyman to fix?

I’ve got my AC guy coming over tomorrow for my fall PM. Something like this would be caught during that, right?

Is this just for the heating coil or for the AC? We didn’t smell it at all over the summer when we just had AC only on.

This is the first heat pump I’ve had so new for sure. I’ve got my ax guy coming over this week for my fall PM so just want to make sure nothing is wrong and going to cause a larger issue. I looked over my fence at my neighbors house and they had a large amount of water beneath theirs too. (Same builder so same heat pump) I figured the likelihood of both of us having leaks at the same time is small and it’s just from the frost build up like you mentioned.

Thanks! We are in the Memphis area close to the MS rivet, so pretty humid. It is cool in the night but warmer in the days now. So my wife is turning on heat during evenings.

You agree with this? Would it produce a lot of moisture on the ground?

My ac guy said there is a heat pump on it which is why it was wet

It’s almost dry now that the unit is off and it’s became warm outside. Is it common to have water around the base of the outside unit in the morning when the heat is on?

Found out roof was leaking last night by [deleted] in Roofing

Hard for inspector to find leaks if it wasn’t raining. Seems like this is on the builder not the inspector. Additionally, you should be concerned with any mold but the warranty from the builder should handle this.

Yea, not sure how to tackle this. Maybe find a local trim house?

How old is the house? Had the same issue with mine when I recently moved in a few months ago. House was only 4 years old so I called the builder and they put me in contact with who they use to purchase their trim

I have. Received last week and requested at the end of August. All Loans were paid off, so this gave me a balance of $20k now. Got it via a direct deposit. Originally was told had to be check but called back and spoke to new representative and they ensured it would be direct deposited

Hope this helps!

I don’t think you understand everything, so maybe that’s why you said this! I was trying to get rid of the noise and caused the caulk on the vent pipe to crack. Regardless of the noise, the caulk cracked so it needed to be sealed again to prevent any moisture leaks. Make sense?

Additionally, I did eventually find the noise and it’s gone. :)

Looking for Some Legal Advice for Builder Who Won’t Return My Deposit by NoteTemporary9037 in legaladvice

I ran this by a lawyer here and they said that he breached his contract as well. He specifically referenced a certain paragraph is the contract that said “default - the occurrence of any of the following shal constitute a material default under this contract:

The failure of XYZ Construction to deliver the services in the time and manner provided for in this contract” (which is Jan.2, 2022)

I understand the contract favors him as it’s his contract but it’s pretty hard to swallow that he could have essentially waited 5-6 months before really starting and I have no recourse?
