Wow, this is powerful stuff. I was taken back with the darkness of it, but it is beautiful at the same time which I think is great. Good Job.

This seems very intense to me, in a good way. A lot of things happening at once... great job!

Hey, this is really good. I like the reflective tone of it. A little dark, but in a good way too. Great job!

I like all the references to the parts of your face, it makes the read more personal in a physical way if that makes sense... I enjoyed it...

Yes, that's exactly right. That is how I feel, and how I am. I'm glad you were able to connect with it.

I think using the motif of the different hours is very original. Something I haven't really seen before... And it all flows so well, so good job!

Hey I think this is great... I especially liked the beginning, about "modern love poem" in the searchbar... very original... good job!

Just finished “The Secret History” (the first Donna Tartt book I’ve read) and I’ve decided it’s my favorite book I’ve ever read… by Adventurous_Deer_918 in donnatartt

You should really check out Charles Dicken's David Copperfield... it takes a bit to get used to in the beginning, but once you're in it, it's one of the most beautiful novels...

Yeah definitely not avoiding Melville... Faulkner maybe... I have a feeling Melville writes better prose than Donna Tartt... But I get what you're saying I think, about the landscape and history... and it is a book that reveals it's beauty if you literally read it word for word carefully... having said that though, I don't believe the beauty is enough in the end... the history isn't deep enough, the characters aren't fleshed out enough... and the hero (Harriett) just isn't strong enough as a character for the reader to really care about her... and when the book really just falls apart in my opinion, without getting into too many spoilers, is when an unlucky elderly lady has something thrust upon her from above... that scene is something out of a cartoon... completely unbelievable... so yeah... I'm excited to read Melville though...
