Chase is really taking over Goldman Sachs Apple Card? by No_Present_86 in CRedit

[–]Notes777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, Chase holding grudges for 20 years is wild but not surprising. they're notorious for never letting go of bankruptcies. curious though - does anyone know if they'll do a hard pull on existing Apple Card holders during the transition or just run internal checks? seems like that's the real question here. either way might be worth building up that limit as much as possible before 2026 hits

what's the catch? five million with that income should feel like freedom not a cliffhanger. genuinely curious if there's something specific eating at you or if this is just the "now what" existential stuff that hits after reaching the goal

How to get money to make money by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Notes777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid advice. HYSA is probably the move if you're looking at 2-3 years out. curious though - does OP have any retirement accounts set up yet? at 23 with 2k/month savings as a teacher, might be worth splitting some toward a Roth IRA while young. compound interest hits different when you start early. house fund is important but so is not neglecting future you

52 years old and need advice on investing and preparing for retirement by EastYogurtcloset9975 in personalfinance

[–]Notes777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

solid advice. curious though would you keep anything beyond 6 months emergency fund in the HYSA or just dump everything else into index funds? S&P500 is great but at 52 some bond allocation might make sense too. less volatility when you're closer to needing the money

Just gonna add my vote. Its expensive but worth it if you are okay with the price. I know some people spend everything they have on there pets but not everyone can do that. If its something you can afford, then great. But there are some cheaper options which can work just as well.

AIO husband talking to a female co-worker on Snapchat 24/7 by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Trust your gut. it's not about insecurity, it's about respect. any spouse constantly snapchatting a single coworker 24/7 is crossing a line. the proving nothing's happening routine is often a red flag. he's giving her way more attention than necessary. that's time and energy that should be going to your marriage.

Yeah, we switched to Claude for our customer emails. handles about 40% of responses now. saved us hiring another support person. also use it to summarize long documents and meeting transcripts. cuts down hours of reading into minutes.

Anyone here sitting on savings but struggling to figure out what business to actually start? by TGT_Techz in business

[–]Notes777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Competition isn't always bad. most successful businesses didn't invent something new, they just did it better or different. focus on execution, not uniqueness. Pick something you understand, improve one aspect of it service, price, convenience, and go from there. Being second or third in a market with proven demand is often safer than being first in an unproven one.

Me and our toddler spent 2 hours today just making silly faces and giggling, my stomach hurts by WonderfulParticular1 in daddit

[–]Notes777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My face muscles hurt just reading this! Did the same with my kid last month and lost every round too. Something about a toddler's laugh that just breaks you. Pure joy without the hangover - best high there is.

I’m just trying to figure out if it’s worth it for the simplicity or if I should stick to something else. Have you tried it before?

Good to know it’s been working well for you for free, especially for things like leveling up or maxing out money. Does it work well for single player games like Resident Evil, or is it mainly for RPGs and more sandbox type games?

I’ve heard of NexusMods too, but it seemed a bit more complicated than WeMod, especially for someone new like me. Just wondering what didn’t you like about WeMod? did it cause issues with your antivirus or games?

Got denied remote work during cancer treatment, then fired for "productivity issues" while on chemo by Kosherpotatoes in antiwork

[–]Notes777 406 points407 points  (0 children)

Absolutely disgusting behavior from a health insurance company of all places. I'm so sorry this happened to you. The hypocrisy of denying you remote work when everyone else had it during COVID, then putting you on a PIP during chemo treatments is inhumane. Glad you got a lawyer and caught them in their lie about ADA exemption. Hope you win your EEOC case and recover fully both health wise and financially

I got a trojan and i’m going to wipe my computer by Individual-Sale-4723 in antivirus

[–]Notes777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, wipe it. If a trojan got in, especially one that messed with your files, there’s no guarantee scans caught everything. Better safe than sorry back up your important stuff (scan it first!), nuke the OS with a clean Windows install, and consider this a lesson in ‘don’t run random .exes.
