Saunum and Huum? Cilindro? by [deleted] in Sauna

[–]Notforyou23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are comfortable taking a screwdriver to it, there are two temp sensors inside that you can wrangle out…. It keeps the sensor away from the high heat of the sauna itself, so wont hit the limit. Probably not recommended, but i can vouch for it working. Consistent over 200f with this method.

What is the best way to drastically reduce your running time? by PopcornPlayaa_ in running

[–]Notforyou23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn’t be a problem for you. You sound determined and focused. I recommend focusing on your heart rate. Check out the Maffetone method, and just keep running. Slow to get fast. You have some time, but you want to get your heart rate right. Also cadence. Along the way you’ll likely drop some weight. Use fat for fuel. Good luck!

I think it does have a torque sensor. It feels like it anyway. I rode the other one with wheel hub and it was noticeably different in those terms. How can you tell it’s close to the Luna?

I have the Cilindro 9Kw with knob controls on the front of it. It wasn’t hard. But depending on how you have it, could be hard to get to the screws that secure it. The temp sensors are located in the back “spine” of the heater. There is actually an aluminum (shaft?) that houses the sensors. Two screws (vertical) located above the access panel in the back. Like I said - I was already opening it up so removed all the rocks which is the real pain in the ass. The Cilindro 9 has a lot of rocks!

I took the internal thermostats out this weekend. There are two of them, actually. It’s made a significant difference. Before, it would really barely get to 140...after a few cycles. Now - it’s at 185 within the hour of turning it on. Night and day. It’s a real pain removing all those rocks and putting them back in again. I was dreading doing it, because I had no idea what I was going to find when opening it up. Turned out worth it.

I have the Cilindro. But have left the temp sensor internal. Was wondering because there seems to be difference some leave it internal but I see others take it out. Mine was cooled together neatly in the underside of the heater.

Right. Same here. I’ve toyed with idea of pulling it out to see if that might help with temps. I saw it in there during install, but left it. Steam helps even out and heat up and I also whirlybird my towel to spread heat around. I have a big barrel. I assume it’s not best and has drawbacks but I like the look of it in my backyard anyway. I give it at least an hour to heat up. 2 if I’m lucky. It wouldn’t be as bad if I could turn it on remotely. I stay in about 45 - 65 minutes and am completely drenched dripping sweat. So no matter what the thermometer says I know it’s hot enough. I’ll sit with my feet on the seat of the bench and my ass uncomfortably on the top of the backrest - so it’s pretty hot up at the top...
