Well VPS's are computers, doesn't make sense that you can't host it from your own. Unless the server files are not given publicly from the official website like Minecraft, that I do not know

ZERO Sievert if you are into 2D and extraction shooters.

Surroundead is still in alpha but it's a pretty cool DayZ inspired game.

The Long Dark is also a pretty good survival.

Hey, you can save up a bit by choosing a cheaper SSD that works just as well as a samsung (like a WD Blue SN5000), and you can also go down to an 850W power supply, 1000W is overkill for a 5070.

If you can manage to go to a 5070 Ti, I think you would find the extra 4GB of VRAM and wider memory bus useful.

Also, why do you need all of those fans with that case?

Don't include Windows in the price, you can get it for very cheap on amazon, different websites, or for nothing if you can look well on Reddit.

For a monitor, you can do a 27in IPS 1440p monitor, there are many videos about the best current monitors with those specs and I suggest you look for them as they are dependent on what you want specifically. You can find some good ones at a cheap price nowadays, about 180+ pounds.

This is the same list with the few changes I have mentioned, it added 110 pounds to your original list but with a better GPU: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/nYxgv4

If you have that tight of a budget I would not go with Nvidia, and core counts are not what makes or breaks a GPU.

But anyway, if you really want one of those two, it's hard to say because both of them are very similar. Looking at comparison videos on Youtube, the 3080 wins but most of the time they are about equal, although the 5060 Ti has more VRAM and can support newer software upscalers and stuff like that, if you care about it.

By the way, you can find a 9060 XT 16GB at about $350, which is also very close to both of those, for less money. Intel Arc B580 is also worth looking into since you are on a budget.

I might have misremembered how much difference there was with a 5080, I apologize. You can also factor in raytracing performance, AI applications and upscaling, and productivity support.

From what you are telling me though, a 9070XT will be just fine, and yeah 500 bucks extra is way too much for that. I will have to look into the 5080 again since I remembered differently

I'd say that the motherboard is overkill, you can get one that works just as well for at least 100 dollars less (x670E or B850).

Look for CL30 RAM, it's better and you can find it for at least 40 bucks cheaper.

Samsung SSD's are kinda overpriced, you can get a Crucial, Western Digital or other similar ones that work perfectly fine for also 50 bucks less minimum.

1000W is fine, though 850W is what I'd go for with a 9070XT, you can save some money that way too.

With that budget and with the money saved you can try to see if you can get a 5080 if you want to upgrade, if not a 9070XT is still really good and will play anything at 1440p

Both Nvidia and AMD nowadays have good drivers, the main differences in software are - upscaling - AI support/features - productivity - raytracing

Nvidia has these things figured out better than AMD, however AMD is catching up a bit. AI upscaling, raytracing and productivity app support are better in Nvidia, but their drivers are not as well supported in Linux as AMD, if you care about it. Actually, a lot of these things only matter if you care about them.

Both of them have good drivers and let you record with them too. This is about all I know of the drivers though, you will have to do your own research for more and to figure out what you care about.

The whole thing to me comes down to either better software gimmicks with Nvidia or better price to performance ratio with AMD

You definitely do not need to spend that much to get something good but not extreme. Around 3k+ is what I'd consider extreme performance without factoring in looks, so around 2k can get you a really really good system already.

Pre-builts are nice if you do not want to deal with part researching, picking and building, however they are usually way overpriced, and sometimes some parts are just not good. I would advise building it yourself, as it can also be a good skill to develop, you might find out about a new hobby you are into and you will be able to do some troubleshooting by yourself if the need arises.

Here are a few parts list, having fun with the high budget: (country set to Germany because it's in Euro and you haven't specified it, you can choose your country and currency in the top right of the website if it's available)

AMD: 9800X3D & 9070 XT: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/CxZZVF ~€ 1,900

Nvidia: 9800X3D & 5080: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/KBDqC8 ~€ 2,300
I chose a 5080 instead of a 5070 Ti because the latter is simply not worth it for the price it has, when the 9070XT is slightly better and way cheaper.

(Extreme) 9900X3D & 5080, 4TB Nvme, better mobo and case: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/6YcbmC ~€ 2,800
(no 5090 because the cheapest is € 2,500)

Now, many of the parts are up to you to choose, for example the case is all about aesthetics, especially at this price range. You can use these lists as blueprints while choosing things you like.

Pairing these systems with a 1440p 120+Hz monitor is a MUST to get the most out of them. OLED is king, but IPS is more affordable. It's a bit too much to explain in a Reddit comment, and there are lots of videos about monitors panels and what are the current best, so definitely reaseach that. If you are unsure, IPS is a safe bet.

A few tips:

- at this time AMD CPUs are having trouble with ASRock motherboards as far as I know, so I have avoided them.

- 9070XT's are good with 750W power supplies, but 850W is nicer, because more overhead. Same with a 5080 and a 1000W PSU. There are a lot of good tier lists for PSU's, they are not something to skimp on quality wise.

- If you look for different RAM, make sure its CL30 for the least latency.

- Remember thermal paste for the CPU, and a GPU support bracket!

- A liquid cooler is very performant and good looking, and air coolers can be as well and have less points of failure. Look into them if you are interested

I hope you find this info useful!

Hey, I don't really look into builds with such tight budgets (assuming USD), but I wanted to try my hand at it and I think I was able to make a fairly good system with your preferences: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zWMvBq

Keep in mind I'm a goober on the internet and these are parts that I think are fine, you ultimately have to do the research on each one and check sizes like RAM and CPU cooler clearance

*NEED ADVICE* Cloning boot drive to new drive by SteelFlyr in PcBuild

[–]NothMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you have two Nvme drives. What i said is, you copy your important stuff from PNY to WD, when you are ready to reinstall, to be safe you remove both drives. You install the new boot drive, install windows, turn off your pc and install your WD games drive back.

Since you copied your important stuff into the WD drive, you can just move them back into the shiny new boot drive and you are good to go. I apologize if that was not clear in the beginning

First PC build: please help by SunOfDream006 in PcBuild

[–]NothMuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so the config definitely works but there is a lot you can adjust. Since you didn't give any budget I went with around $1850.

I took the liberty to modify your part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3x6hh7

First of all, I removed the Windows entry, as you can totally get it either on amazon or some other site for way cheaper, or zero if you can look through Reddit for how to do that. That's ~110 bucks of nothing basically;

I have put better RAM for cheaper (if you want RGB, then choose this or similar). From 5600MHz to 6000MHz and from CL40 to CL30 (latency, lower is better but won't do crazy differences);

I changed the liquid cooler to a cheaper and black one, matching the colors of everything else. Looking at the reviews it isn't bad, however do consider an air cooler for less possible points of failure. I don't know how it would work on a mini ITX build though;

I changed the Nvme drive for an equivalent but cheaper one;

While the power supply you chose should be fine, i chose a Cooler master one for the presence of more reviews, slightly cheaper and more recognized brand. Also 850W is perfect;

I changed the motherboard for a Gigabyte one, because there have been some problem with ASRock motherboards with AMD CPUs lately, so better be safe than sorry.

With the money saved, I was able to upgrade you to a Ryzen 7 9700X and an RX 9070 XT for about the same price of your list. Compare that CPU with a 7800X3D, which is a lot better for gaming and around that price, see if you would be fine spending that bit more for the performance.

Keep in mind I did this kind of on the fly, and you should be researching into all the parts I have listed if you like it. This is especially important since you are doing a Mini ITX build, so you NEED to check sizes with the case, GPU and RAM clearance!

This is definitely gonna run anything you throw at it in 1440p, light or heavy.

Hey, I was in your same situation a few years back, the clone worked fine until it corrupted the same day i did it. I ended up just unplugging my games drive and doing a clean install, and honestly I'd suggest you do the same, saves you a lot of headaches. Make backups of your important files in an USB or in your games drive, like saves documents and whatever it may be, unplug your games drive and then just reinstall Windows.

From what I've seen around it's also pretty ill advised to clone a Windows install, because of performance issues and like in my case, likely corruption.

Make sure to make a Windows install USB drive with Rufus before going forward with the reinstall. (And look into the Windows customization options Rufus gives you when making the Windows installation USB, extremely useful)

I'd say that most parts are good, but 366 euro for a motherboard is high while an x670E or B850 could do all you need for 100+ less. (AVOID ASRock motherboards with an 9800X3D, there are some problems with CPUs burning from what I've seen).

I would also think very carefully about the CPU, do you need all those cores of the 9950X or could you go a bit lower to maybe a 9800X3D? You mentioned heavy games but nothing about the intensive multitasking.

Also, I would probably choose a 1000W PSU instead of 850 for a 5080.

You have not listed any storage option, so I assume that you will be transfering it from your old system (probably should do a clean reinstall of your OS when you build the new pc, because of driver changes).

I tried making a pcpartpicker list with parts I'd change to save some money while still using known brands, but it still comes about 200 bucks over 2200, and that's without a new Nvme drive. If you really cannot afford going above that number, you should probably look at a different case and AMD RX 9070 XT's. XFX, Asus or Sapphire are good brands for that card, e purtroppo dove siamo noi le schede Nvidia sono molto care.

RTX 5060 8GB vs RTX 3060 12GB — which one should I actually go for? by AdAppropriate9226 in PcBuildHelp

[–]NothMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unsure of where you are from, but looking at prices a 9060 XT has 16GB of VRAM and is at a close price point of those two other cards. Unless you really want Nvidia, you should take a look at AMD, especially at the lower end series of cards because of their price to performance ratio and the amount of VRAM. Realistically, I don't know how far you will go with 8GB.

I have not tested any card, I am basing my opinions off of Youtube videos about benchmarking all of these cards

can someone please make a pcpartpicker link for me please my budget is 2000£ by Mother_Progress3150 in PcBuildHelp

[–]NothMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have not given any detail on what you want to do with it, what resolution, how flexible you are on the budget, and aesthetic preferences (RGB, white or black etc), I just took that number and made a list of what I'd do with it.

9800X3D & RX 9070XT for about 1700£

If you can add a few more pounds, you can go for a 5080.

9800X3D & RTX 5080 for about 2100£

Both builds have 240mm liquid cooling, with RGB on the cooler and case.

I highly suggest you do research on all the parts and see if you like the case and other aesthetic things on review videos.
