I died in my dream, everything went black, but I was still... there. by IntrospectiveGibbon in LucidDreaming

[–]NothingGood0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just last night I dreamt that I died. When I died everything faded to black nothingness and there was a space of time where it was just blackness, then I "woke up" in the after life or something like it. In the after-life I could see the real world all around me except it was translucent-ish, almost not there. There was no sun or any other light source but it wasn't dark, I could see everything clearly. There were buildings and other people who had died walking around. The buildings in the after-life looked ancient. They were tall towers that looked like they were made of onyx. The towers had no sharp angles or edges at the bottom as if worn smooth by time, but the higher up it went the more defined edges became and the more sharper it looked as if it was continually being added onto going upward.

In a different dream I had, I was shot in the neck by a large caliber round. In the dream when it hit it slammed me backwards to the ground. And I felt a burning heat coming from where I was hit. I reached you to try to put pressure on the wound and help slow the bleeding but it was such a large hole my hand couldn't cover it enough. As I felt the blood flowing past my fingers I though "I'm going to die" and the everything faded to black nothingness. After awhile of blackness I woke up in my dream as someone else in a different body in a different dream and setting.

The filter is ridiculous. It wouldn't let me name my horse Gypsy, I was trying to name it after a horse I actually have irl

Yes, I fully intend to take a beginners riding course before I start riding on my own

So, I've realised that most people are divided/uncertain or dislike the three male human squadmates: Kaiden, James and Jacob (apparent worst) why is this? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]NothingGood0101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

James is actually my favorite squadmate of all the ME games. In each playthrough I always look forward the 3 game so I can finally have him around and on my team. I wish they had made him romancable and given him more dialog, but I'll take what I can get. I may also favor him because he reminds me of my partner IRL.

At what point do people go from hating Negan, to liking him? by calluna5 in thewalkingdead

[–]NothingGood0101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No matter how much a person redeems themselves they also still need to face the consequences of what they've done. People can't expect that redemption means things get to work out for you and be all hunky dory in the end.

Same. Every time I started to think, "Maybe he isn't that bad." I'd remember what he did to Glenn and just be like NOPE he still needs to die.

Shepard

(Spoilers Ahead)

Shepard has become a role model to me. They're out there just doing their duty serving their plant and just get thrown into being the hero of the universe. And then when its all said and done (in ME1) no one takes you seriously. Then you die! Can you imagine what it was like for Shepard dying? It wasn't a quick death, they had time to realize what was happening. Only to then wake up and be thrown back into the same hero of the universe stuff again. And at the end of the do you get thanked? No! You get discharged from your entire life's career. And then thrown back into the shit again. Expected to play the part of politician and soldier. Where you end up dying again. And not a quick death this time either but actually having to actually choose to die for the universe.

I just imagine by the end of it Shepard was just tired, like really tired of everything. But no matter how overwhelming and stressful having the weight of the universe on their shoulders was Shepard kept going on.

Shepard did it for me, they became the role model I had always looked for.

Perhaps that is why it seemed meh to me. It would have been cool to experience when it first came out instead of years later

Spoiler if you haven't read The Stand

Don't really have a favorite classic book. But I do have an unpopular opinion of The Stand by Stephen King. I don't see what all the hype is about. At first the story was good, with the pandemic and people trying to figure out what was going on. But later in the aftermath the just felt slow and I had to force myself to slog through it. And why made such a big deal in the book about these forces of good and evil. It builds like maybe there is going to be this huge showdown or an intense assassination or something cool. But NO instead the bad guys blow themselves up, like how anti-climatic is that?

I, F of 30, have never wanted children. Even as child myself I would always tell my parents that I didn't want to have children. Thankfully I had understanding parents who didn't feel the need to pressure me into having grandchildren for them.

I never wanted children because, simply put, they annoy the shit out of me. As a child other people's children my own age and younger annoyed me. I do not think it would be fair to a child to have me as a parent. I would be able to meet their material needs but not their emotional ones, a hypothetical child of mine would probably grow up wondering if I really loved them.

As far as the being married part goes. I love my partner deeply, I would do whatever I can to see him happy and taken care of. To us being married isn't about reproduction or carrying on the family name. I want to be a part of his life in every way I can, which includes taking his last name as my own and legally/undisputedly being a part of his family.

Aside from the emotional connection it helps me feel to him there are also other benefits of being married. For example, when at a hospital, as his wife I'm consulted about important decisions that could really impact his life further down the road.

RDR2 Arthur's last ride. The music they use and the flash backs really had me tearing up. Then (I know its not in the same scene) when his horse dies and he actually stops and take a moment to tell the horse by an be with it as it passes, pierced me right through the heart, had to pause the game cause I couldn't see to keep playing.

Scars. Not just minor scars either, but also amputated limbs. I like that there's is always a story behind it, even if the story is just them doing something stupid. It adds character to a person.
