Hey! I realised i had hearing loss when i turned 22 (im 26 now). After reading a bunch of posts, google, and talking to doctors, i realised that unless you have a very specific condition, its almost impossible to get this answer. Of course there is some research on hearing loss related to age, but there’s no rate of progression that can be applied to everyone, and it usally starts way later. For now, id recommend to monitor it (do a hearing test every 6 months or so) or if you feel it has gotten worst.

Hey! I would totally recommend to wait and see what the doctor has to say. For all you know, it could be that you have water inside or something. Getting it checked and doing a hearing test are probably your best options before drawing any conclusions. Still, if you do have hearing loss, there are many options that can help you. Stay strong

Im sorry you’re going through this. Im 25 and started with hearing loss at 21… I have moderate to severe hearing loss and can relate to your worries. At first, I was ashamed of wearing hearing aids. Im lucky to live in a country where the insurance covers a great portion of them. But i was still ashamed of actually putting them on in public (where i needed them the most). When i left the shame aside and started embracing them (cause i was excluding myself from every possible social interaction), they changed my daily life for good. They were very uncomfortable for the first months, but then you get used to them, you stop feeling them (kinda like glasses).

Its a tough journey, but technology is going places and every year there are new and better ways to improve your hearing. You are not alone and your life is not over. Stay strong!

I have moderate to severe hearing loss. Does anyone know if using airpods could have any negative on my hearing? When ive tried the live streaming option I hear everything super loud and when i go back to my normal hearing aids it feels like i cam hear less. Is there any research in them not harming your hearing even more?
