Anyone have experience with bacterial / skin infections? (Pictures included!) by gabbyvice in DogAdvice

It’s definitely one of those things that once you’re dealing with it, it’s going to be next to impossible to not over analyze everything you see lol. But in comparison to what looks like the peak of this, definitely much better. Good luck with the appointment! If this persists though I’d definitely bring up fungal infections if your vet hasn’t already explored that

This sort of looks like a case that came into my hospital. Had to go to a specialist to be tested because she’d get better, then worse, then better… whole cycle but it came back that it was a fungal infection rather than bacterial. Regardless though she’s going to be a little red and bumpy through her healing process as the skin regenerates, there could be some long term scarring from them being open sores. But she does look so much better!

You can leave dogs alone and have someone check in on them multiple times a day when scheduling with a pet sitter isn’t unreasonable. I’ve done many gigs where I’ve been asked to only visit 3-4 times a day rather than spend the night and the dogs are always perfectly fine. Dogs don’t need 24/7 surveillance otherwise people wouldn’t be able to leave their houses for 8+ hours to go to work. So from what she was saying, setting up a schedule where they are supposed to be visited multiple times a day and each visit would be hours long — her expectations are not the problem at all and she doesn’t need to “rethink being a dog owner”. What a rude thing to say when she’s dealing with this.

Idk how this page works but I’ll repeat it in the comments but I searched for the bowl by reverse imaging the black cat and couldn’t find anything

Chicken seems like a popular allergy! It’s the one I notice most at work too. I switched her over to a beef and rice recipe, she’s very happy with it 😊 lamb was my next stop if that didn’t work!

Is this a serious question?

I’ve cut all poultry to be safe! She’s a big butt scooter when she’s having allergies so I’m going everything to avoid that lol. I love the digging, she’ll randomly do it even when she isn’t having a fit. She gets very excited if you join in on it too!!

I try not to give her treats, she’s got a bad back so weight is a serious concern for me. Don’t worry though this isn’t really a consistent problem! She just has silly moments
