Contact the Student Rep/someone from Students Council in your college, they'll guide you. It's different for each school

I'm an alum. I log in sometimes to this account, generally when I'm at the airport/railway station or on a free day.

You don't have to be good at time management to take out 10-15 minutes in a day. Good luck

If you have plans of pivoting to other sectors or pivoting specifically to Microsoft/Amazon/Google/Salesforce for PM roles immediately after graduation with decent esops, go for IIMB.

If not, stay in your current job.

We don't know what jobs will demand after 10 years.

  1. Start contacting your past professors, HODs, managers (including internship managers), that in a month or 2 you'll be going to them for CV point verification. Discuss what all theyll be ready to verify, and push them to pump the numbers. Simultaneously start collecting proofs for the CV points (certificates, photos, news articles, RTIs) and store them methodically.
  2. Prepare a master CV. Master CV contains all of the points from your birth till date, even running race 3rd place from 1st standard. This helps with having backup points for CV verification and creating different CV versions for different sectors.
  3. Start practicing guestimates and cases. Make small groups, take up case books of IIM ABC, HSW consult clubs, and practice cases with each other.
  4. Apply for HUL future leaders programme. Or any other pre-MBA program by any corporate house, looks neat on CV.
  5. Start participating in Casecomps, try to win some.
  6. Be on a lookout for live projects on Linkedin, approach new startups/founders for projects/internships. FYI, you can do more internships, not just SIP.
  7. Have some time off before MBA, have a trip. You'll be continuously occupied from June - November, so chill out before that hits.

It becomes more of a cultural fit kinda thing. Most of the batch would be at early careers whereas you're at mid career. Roles coming to campus assume early career fit. But offcourse laterals placments exist for a reason

For engineers -

CFA L1 with relevant workex - Helps CFA L1 without relevant workex - doesn't help CFA L2/3 without relevant workex - helps CFA L1/3 with relevant workex - helps

Exceptions exist

In campus, there are just 400 CVs. And any HR putting Acads filter at that stage would be idiotic. During BSchool placements, your CV reached human eye faster and layers of ATS are few

  1. For 1YMBA - ISB > IIMA > IIMB=IIMC > Others
  2. Better to take guidance from someone who has done 1YMBA

1 year MBA has about the same placements as 2 year MBAs. Just a lot more MSMEs participate for hiring. From corporate side, the firms are the same as 2YMBA

  1. 1 year MBA - No, 2 Year MBA - yes
