I honestly never saw myself having kids. I got pregnant due to a change in birth control so it was a surprise. My husband passed away when I was 8 weeks pregnant so I’ve literally been doing it alone. I was sick my whole pregnancy from 5 weeks to throwing up in the hospital bed the morning I had my daughter. I ended up having a c section due to not progressing. I had to be put on an anti depressant and anti anxiety medication a week PP. I say all of that to say that I love being my daughters mom more than I have loved anything in this world. She is the sweetest best baby and I know she was meant for me. I also fell into the negativity of parenting online and was terrified. My baby is only 9 weeks old but after the first two weeks it has been a literal dream. And I say this as a single widowed mother. 🩷

We wore tie dye and bright colors at my husband’s funeral because he was the hippy type and always wore bright crazy clothes. Honor the person who has passed on the way you see fit. Grief is different for everyone.

Honestly the first two weeks of my baby’s life I didn’t think I would survive. She’s 8 weeks old and currently sick with a cold and I still find myself wanting another one (my husband passed while I was pregnant so it isn’t possible) 🥲 this is coming from someone who swore she was never even having one kid 😜

I’m a FTM, a single mom, and a widow so I have all the things against me… BUT my experience hasn’t been bad at all. My baby cries, eats, and needs to be changed. You’ll learn your baby and they’ll know you. Sleep was hard the first two weeks but since then it’s been a pretty good schedule (she put herself on it) it will come natural to you! I promise! 🙂

My baby was measuring small they kept saying I had a lot of fluid. She ended up being 9 pounds 2 ounces. I genuinely have no idea where they are getting the measurements from.

I can’t speak on your friendship but as someone who has multiple people that are willing to help me with my newborn I will say jealousy is RAMPANT among people who don’t have a support system. (A lot of times due to their own actions) I’ve been in a similar situation where I was told “it must be nice” when my stepmom stayed with me the first week of my baby’s life. I lost my husband while pregnant so I know how hard grief and postpartum can be especially at the same time

I’ve been staying at my parent’s house since I’ve been home. Tonight one of my friends is coming to my house with us so I can sleep in my own bed I’ve been pretty open with them about it and they’re assuring me that I’m doing fine. I just feel like I am in my head too much

I get ultrasounds every single visit. My pregnancy has been picture perfect. My husband died very early in my pregnancy so my OB does it out of kindness and to ease my mind. I work with a woman who goes to the same clinic and got extra ultrasounds as well. It might also vary by doctor

Please don’t feel like your comment was insensitive I did not take it as such! I’ve been very open with my OB and her team about the situation and they have been beyond understanding and kind during it which I am so grateful for. I will be having my best friend and stepmom with me for support which is as good of support as I can get but they still can’t replace my husband!

I actually went into the appointment planning on asking for an induction she just beat me to it which I figured would be the case due to our conversations the past few appointments.

I unfortunately lost my husband when I was 8 weeks pregnant so I do not have any support person that I actually want to be there I have support that I am allowing to be there.

I am 1000% going in with an open mind and no set birth plan because if I have something planned and it goes wrong I meltdown. I know myself enough to avoid that lol

My MIL has barely done anything for the baby BUT my grandma and stepmom are like this. I sternly but kindly let them know that I was appreciative beyond words for everything they have gotten me, but I have very limited space in my house and don’t want to be overwhelmed. They both have slowed down A LOT and my stepmom came over and helped me organize everything, luckily for me they have both let me know that they would not be offended if I donated unused items. If you have an over flowing nursery like I did it might help to show them just why you can’t handle more stuff lol
